All Quiet On The Western Front

Have not heard from Beryl since her meltdown.

I'm sure if she wants to see me she is capable
of using the phone to ring me.

"The Big Trip"

This country of ours is huge. Yet in the last ten years
I have done very little driving around it. It is for
this reason that the trip I made on Thursday to see Karen
at her new house and visit Janette at 'her little house'
then drive home via Yallourn Nth became the big trip!

A total of 68 kms. The most I have done in the last five
years is about 35, a trip to Yallourn Nth and then down
to Moe , back to Yallourn Nth and then home.

Gavin Cleans Up.

Gavin came over on Monday and started cutting down the
treesaround the pool. He had filled up my bin, before
Meg came home at lunch time and told him that there was
to be a free 'green waste day' this Saturday and Sunday.

So then he just kept cutting the trees down and said that
he would come over on either Wednesday or Thursday and
finish them off. But he has not come over and I have not
herad from him. So I will have to chase him up and see
if he will come over on Saturady and cut the trees while
I do the bamboo. I hate to wait till the last moment as
we have had two great days of fine weather and who knows
what it will be like over the week end!

Good Neighbours.

Well I was being a good neighbour by letting the young
girl next door know that her tenents had did a flit.

It was also me that put out the full bins when the days
came around. It was also me that rang the coucil and got
them to come especially and empty the 'recycling' bin
that the tenents had put rubbish in. So what did I want
in return? Just to be able to use the green waste bin
as long as there were no tenents in the house and what
happened? Her father shut the bins up in the garage
so that I could not use them!!!

So I won't be putting myself out for them again, that's
for sure.

The Court Case! AGAIN!!!

Received in the mail on Wednesday a letter from the
Magistrate's Court re The Court case with the Council.

Despited the fact that the Council withdrew the case
and I was told to go home. Apparently someone FORGOT
to show the judge the letter when the case was called
and so he judged in favour of the Council!

I spent over an hour yesterday going back and forth
between the Court house and the Council trying to sort
it all out. Finally a young lady at the Courthouse
said that the judge that made the order was a visiting
judge and was situated in Melbourne and she would have
to email him and took my phone number (mobile) and said
she would ring me and let me know that everything is OK.
That was about noon on Thursday and it is Friday noon
and no word yet, I will give them a week and then re
contact them if I haven't heard!

Happy V Day

Well Cliff bought me a kit for doing my nails. I have
no idea what made him buy this. I am not that fussy
about my nails. In fact I have terrible trouble with
them, as they are always splitting and cracking, so
much so that I find that I can't even wear nail polish,
as this only seems to make them worse.

When I went to spend the week end I found that he had
bought heart ice creams, not the big ones, but little
ones. Each consists of one mouthfull of ice cream,
surrounded by chocolate. He said they were for
Valentine's Day.

I don't know if this is really romantic or really stupid!

A New Out Look

It has been a wek since I did my blog. I have been
thinking about Tracey and her life and of course that
has led me to think about life in general and how we
always neglect to think that one day it will end.
It is a sad fact that we don't have forever, so
really we should start leading our lives accordingly.

By this I mean things like "The Craddle List" all the
things young people should do before they have children,
and then the ever faithful "Bucket List" all the
things that we want to do before we die.

Well we might never know when we are going to die,
for some it just happens. So stop putting of those
things. If they require money to do, then start saving
now, so that "one day" will arrive sooner!

Even if it means giving up a small thing like one
lunch out a week that would be a saving of over $100
a year! I only need about $500 to drive across the
Nullarbor Plain. Meaning that about retiremnet age
I should have the money to do this!

As for seeing my dad's grave, I doubt I would ever
have the $10,00 it would take to go to Ireland and
stay the week to see his grave and met my Irish
relatives. Well some things are not meant to be
and I believe this is one of them.

The other thing I wanted to do was walk along some
of the Great Wall of China, but I am a 61 year old
obese woman, who has trouble walking from my front
door to the car in the driveway about 10 meters away!
so I don't really see that happening.

But the drive across the Nullarbor that I can do!
