Meg Says "I'm in my mid-30's"

On the 31st May (officially at 11.59 p.m.) Meg turned 35!
She had lunch with Kath. I took Kirsten around to see her
at home at 6 p.m. and she came around to my place to watch
DH with me.

I gave her a Coles mini cup cake (chocolate of course) with
one huge candle lit on it at the first ad. She laughted.
Then took a picture with her phone.

I gave her the other three chocolate cupcakes to take home.

We are really celebrating her birthady with tea at the
top pub on Saturday 2nd June.

Kirsten Creates A Fuss

Kirsten was having a bad time at school last week. So when
she asked to have Lexie stay over on Tuesday night after
netball I said yes. Althought I always had the rule with
my kids that could be no one staying overnight if they had
school the next day. The thing is I have not had Kirsten
since the beginning, thus it is hard to establosh rules when
she has been allowed to do what every she likes when ever
she likes.

I thought she was showing off for Lexie when I went in at
8 p.m. to collect her phone. She had been using it
to acess Facebook sometimes as late as 1 a.m. in the
morning on a school night. No wonder she was tired and
irrrable at school and getting into trouble. She screamed
at me to "Wait" and continued to use it. I was not having
it. I told her not to speak to me in that manner and she
had to the count of ten to hand over the phone, as I was
missing my T.V. show standing there. So I counted to ten.
She still continued to use the phone, so I nudged her in
her side, as she was laying on the floor and said "Now."
Once more she screamed "Wait" at me, so I just unplugged it
from the power point and took it and the charger away.

The next day she was still upset with me, so I went down to
Headspace to see if she could see Bonnie.

They said no she would just have to see the duty officer.

However she did not come home from school but went to the
park with friends as I rang her to find out where she was.

So I took her on Thursday. The woman she spoke to asked to
see Kath.

When Kath came out I asked if she wanted to se me but Kath
said No. I'm driving away and asked "May I be allowed to
know why she wanted to speak to you." Kath said it was to
organise Kirsten to stay with her for two weeks.

The more I have though about it the angier I have become.

However will I be able to control Kirsten's behaviour if when
she gets the shits with me she can run to them and manipulate
them into letting her 'run' off to somewhere else.

This woman had no right as DHS had placed her in my care!

Then Kirsten says it was "because I kicked her." Must admit
I screamed "What??. Turns out she is claiming that the 'nudge'
I gave her with my foot on Tuesday night was in fact a 'kick'.

Could not do anything about it at that stage. On Friday morning
I rang the doctor and we had to wait nearly all morning to get
in to see the him. I asked him to look at the 'kicked' area
and took a photo of it. I said there is not even a mark and
Kirsten claims it is because it 'was 3 days ago' The child
does not know that if I had really kicked her by the time 3
days had passed there would be lovely purple and blue brusing
with maybe a tinge of yellow on the outter edges of the
'bruise'. The doctor examined her ribs and said there was no
damage to them. Of course not as I did not kick her. She says
she has a witness Lexie Gatt. She said that Lexie's mother
works for DHS, so there!!

I wonder if it was Lexie's idea to say "I kicked her."

I certainly will not be ever having her stay again, nor any
other child on a school night.

Good Bye Little Red Hatchback

Wednesday 23rd May, 2012. A sad day, the new Toyota Hatchback that
I bought in Oct, 1992, is gone.

Step said that the next service in 6 months would be major repairs.
Perhaps as much as $3,000. So Cliff got him to look around for a
car for me. Rob found a 2002 Kia Spectra for $2,500. With repairs
and reg it cost $3,500. It is insured for $4,00 as that was what AAMI
said it was worth.

Rob gave me $150, for my Toyota. She is being scrapped for parts.

An end of an era.

R.I.P. Jeffoire

Geoff Phillip was Cliff's cousin. He died on his 65th birthday
from Cancer. He was June's elder child and her only son. June
is Audrey's olest sister. Audrey is Cliff's mum.

I had never met Geoff, but attended a memorial for him at the
hotel where he permantely resided.

From the self indulgent film he made prior to his death and from
my listening to the conversations of those people who did know
him I concluded he was a lost man child.

He had fench words interspaced throughtout the film. I got the
impression he thought the French were arty and thus the 'frenching'
of his name from Geoff to Jeffoir.

An adult that lived his life for himself. A person who never
really knew who he was.

He pottered around in different jobs over his lifetime but
did not settle to one thing.

He helped with various bands, doing their lighting.

In the 70's he dressed and looked like John Lennon.

In the 90's he dressed and looked like Mick Jagger.

He left behind a few bits of furniture, some clothes and
books and a lovely daughter. Not really much for a lifetime.

Another Day Off.

Went to pick Kath up at 9 a.m. to drive her to the bus, only to
find Kirsten there. She claims she did not go to school, as
she had lost her excursion slip. As if she could not have got
another one. She never mentioned it to me either. So she
must not wanted to go. It was out to Monash uni. I have no
idea why, as there was no word of it in the latest news letter
either.

Will have to find a way, to get around Kirsten, to get information
directly from the school, so I know what is going on.

Hot Showers

There is only one thing better than a lovely hot shower and
that is a long soak in a bath. These days who has the time
for a bath?? It must be two years since I had a bath, but I
am given bath salts and bath essences nearly every mother's day!

Dean from Gas World rang about 11 a.m. Saturday 19th to say that
he had the part that he think will fix the heater. At 7 p.m. I
had a lovely shower and might have spent more time than I shoud
in it but what the hell I had not had one since Wednesday so I
figured it was about the same amount of water.

Will just have to wait and see if I have hot water Monday when I
get home from Cliff's on Monday.

Saturday Netball

Well it was a wet and miserable day. It did drizzle nearly
the whole time the girls were playing. Meg said that we were
late. My watch turned out to be a 'bit' slow as I had thought
it was 9.15 a.m. but it was 9.25 a.m. and the other girls had
arleady warmed up.

Play starts at 9.30 a.m. the other team only had two players
come so they forfeited. But there were a few 'spare' girls
so they made up a team to give 'The Devils' a play. The
odd bod team won 8 goals to 5. Remember they have never
played together before and 'The Devils' have been playing
for 4 weeks now.

But once Meg told them that they had already won, the energy
seemed to drain out of them and they did not make as much
effort to intercept as they had before being told they had won.

Driven to Drink.

The new water heater that was bought just before Easter,
continues to play up. Don jr has been around at least 8 times
to relight it for me and the plummer has relit it 6 times and
the handyman has done it once since I have had it, but the
worse thing is we have no hot water every second day, so we
are only showering when there is water and by the time Kirsten
and I shower there is no hot water for the dishes to be washed.
I tried using the kettle but it takes five loads of water from
the kettle and about 20 minutes to fill the sink that wasy!
because I can't use the dishwasher without hot water!

Finally the plummer rang the company that makes the unit and
they sent a serviceman around yesterday. He said the pressure
was a little 'high' but that was better than too low. (Low
pressure is one of the reasons the pliot light can go out.)
The pliot was low so he adjusted it a 'little' higher and
turned the thermostat a little higher as well as he said it
was on 2 and that can be a 'bit cool.' He also replaced a
part and said that should take care of it.

Kirsten had a lovely hot shower last night, but when I went to
have a shower this morning, after spending half an hour cleaning
water off the laundry floor where the new washing machine had
dumped it (the second time I have used it and the second time
the water has flooded over the floor. I don't have to wash it
as it is getting enough cleaning this way!) it was to find that
the water was cold!

Rang Rhett (the plummer) and he rang Dean (the repairman) who
said there was one more part he could try replacing but would
not have that part till tomorrow!

Both Rhett and I said 'what have we done to deserve this?' but
at least he is getting hot showers every day and I am NOT!

Pink Plate

About a month ago a new house on the corner of Crinigan Rd and
Bridle Rd had a car go too fast around the roundabout and it
ended up through the front windows of the house.

Nothing unusual about that, but about three hours later another
car run into their side fence and took out about four meters of
fence and drove away but their licence plate was seen.

My fiance, Cliff, said that the plate was pink and when the police
checked there was only one like in in the whole of Morwell, so
the police quickly picked up the person.

Well today at the shop he called me out the front to point out
the car with the pink plate. It does not have a pink plate at
all, but it does have a pink FRAME around the plate.

Water, Water Everywhere and Not a Drop to Drink.

Saw an article in the Herald Sun that the Catholic Church claims that
in Victoria there are 1.3 million single women aged between 24 and 34
and in the same group only 68,000 single men. That is about 19 women for
each man, great for the men looking for 'fun' not so good for the women
looking for marriage and children.

Then I read that in that group of men, one of the qualifying factors
was the man had to earn over $60,000 a year. I wonder if that ruled out
a lot of men, and there would be men in that age group who are divorced
and available to marry but as the church does not recoginise divorce I
wonder how many more men that ruled out. Still if that doubled the number
of men it still means ten women for each man. Perhaps these women will
have to find 'toy boys' like my two daughters!

What's Up?

This may look bigger but there is no line spacing and everything
runs toghether as if you are taking one breath and can't get it all
said before you run out of air!

AHHHH found the line sapacing under options! To me it is not an option!

Who wants to see long blocks of writing with no break? hard to see
worse to read.

'Keeping It...."

I have decided to write another blog.

I find that many of the things I write about are movies, T.V.
shows and books. So I will write a Blog "Keeping It Real"
that will deal with those matters and keep "Gloria's Day"
for the everyday angst.

'Missing"

Watched this and was reminded of the scene ouside the court
house at the end of the film "The Eraser." What you think
you see is not what actually happens.

Don, Meg and Kath agree with me that the father is still
alive and he is the one behind taking the boy.

Makes sense, he found out about the wife's affair, took
measures and when she chooses him it is too late, the plan
is already in action and he can't back out. He sends the
boy back into the hotel for the ball so that he can exit
the car which is then blown up. The body was already in
the trunk and is thus found in the wreckage when the bits
and pieces are reassembled.

This explains the photos of the boy over the ten years
since (not of the mother the ex spy), the father has
been keeping an eye on the boy. He was not kidnapped by
the usual gangs in Italy that target rich tourists as
they contact the parents with 24 hours and he was
missing a week with no contact. He was not taken to force
his mother to give up information otherwise once again she
would have been contacted immediately. If he was taken in
revenge he would be dead and his body displayed somewhere
for her to find.

But as Meg said "I hope this does not go on and on like
"Lost" did."

When will the producers get it right? Every show has a
'Use by Date' and when it's up it's up.

Some shows start off with one idea, like "Weeds" where
a middle class woman finds on her husband's death that
he had no insurance and she has no skills so resorts to
selling drugs to continue in her life stlye and to
support her two boys. Now there should have been a few
funny adventures and a few twists but she should have
married the policeman and returned to her 'normal' life
and lived happily ever after. Instead she becomes more
of an idiot as the show went on, gets more involved in
more drugs and starts dating a south American drug lord,
to whom she has a child, then runs away from him with
family in tow, with a male friend whom I thought played
role of town mayor. Her younger son (out of no where)
becomes an pscho killer and her older son wants to date
and get married! At which point I stopped watching!!

Don't even get me started about "Lost" it lost me after
the second season, when it too began to get 'way out there'.

Yet there have been shows that did the right thing, about
two years ago there was a show about a Hollywood producer's
wife who gets dumped and how most of her so called friends
also dump her, how she and her child cope, and how she
finnally makes it back into the inner circle bigger and
better than ever. Loved it! Took no more than a dozen
episodes to get the story told.

Last year the ABC did a show about how everyone stops dying
and what happens next, took about six episodes to reach a
thrilling climax. Short and sweet!
