Baby Sitting Duty

Thursday afternoon Kath asked me to come around
at about 5.30 p.m. and baby sit so she could go
and hang plaster with Donald, at Yallourn North.

I think Adam may have been there as well

"Baby's" Back.

As Kath had the other four children for the week
I have had Kirsten for the week.

Went to Officeworks over the week end and got
cardboard and compass and drew circles and cut
them up into half, quarter, thirds, fifths and
sixths to help her understand fractions.

So Monday night we are at Cliff's and I asked her
to do the sums and she refused. It took an hour
to get her to do one.

I went to the kitchen to finish the wasing up as
she was being so stuborn, the next thing I know
she takes off. I ran out and called out at the
top of my lungs that if she did not come back I
would ring the police and I would give her to the
count of 12.

She did not come back.

I rang the police and waited. An hour later Kath
rang to say that Kirsten had rung her and she had
come from Morwell leaving the other kids alone
to pick her up. WHY SHE DID NOT BRING HER BACK TO
CLIFF'S IS A MYSTERY. I had to go all the way to
Morwell, to pick Kirsten up.

When we got back, Cliff read her the riot act for
about 45 minutes. He was drunk and kept repeating
himself and of course Kirsten just sulked and didn't
say a word. Finally she agreed to do the sums and
low and behold it took about three minutes to do the
three sums!!! I told her we would do the harder ones
later.

Ross even went on the internet and downloaded and
printed up some colour sheets showing fractions which
was thoughtful of him considering the crap she gave
him not that long ago.

Coming Back

Received an email on Sunday night that said
because of the construction at Mildura airport
we had to be there an hour before our flight!
When went to Melbourne it said half an hour
before the flight (which if we had of done
we would have been in trouble as it was 45
minutes in the check in line.)

So we arrived at 11 a.m. Cliff went to drop off
the car and there was no one there. I said if
the man opened only half an hour prior to the
plane taking off we had a problem as we had to
go through the security section by 11.30 a.m.
which was also half an hour before the plane
was due to leave and once through you can't
came back out till the plane takes off.

Aud was suppose to come through with us but
was talking to a friend and we went through
and then she said she couldn't go through which
was wrong and we could not understand what she
was saying through the glass window. Pretty
annoying as there were things that needed to
be said.

She had asked us to come to her place early as
she gave Cliff the paper that allows him and one
of his brothers to "turn off the machine" if it
comes to that.

I asked when she needed us to move up to help out
and she said within six months, at least not before
Xmas. I said January as I would be bringing Kirsten.

The rest of the trip home was pretty uneventful.

The pilot made a gaffe. Everyone laughted when
he said "Those people landing in Sydney could get
their connecting fight to Brisbane..." that's when
he realised we were landing in Melbourne.

A Lovely Sunday

We started the day at Andrew and Sue's. A lovely
fresh breakfest with bacon and scrambled eggs for
me. Cliff started with strawberries but Sue put
out youghurt to dip them in. Needless to say I
did not dip but Cliff the grot double dipped!
Thankfully Sue did not see and Audrey scopped
the yoghurt he had 'spoiled' onto his plate. He
still didn't seem to think he had done anything
so bad.

We went to see Brian. He was saying that most of
the growers had a bad season because although their
crop was good the companies were importing organges
cheaper from California than they could buy them
here and that is beacuse of the cheap Mexician labour
whereas here the pickers are paid $80 a ton and the
companies are only paying $30 a ton to buy them.
So the growers didn't bother to pick them but are
just letting them rot on the trees.

Had tea at Andews as well but it was only snack food,
most of which e.g. imported cheeses on crackers and
spicy salami meats, I don't eat.

Andrew and Cliff played three games of pool and I
think Andrew let Cliff win. He really is not a good
loser.

Went inside for a cuppa which I never had. The fact
is Andrew said he was pleased to see us and wanted us
to take Aud to live with us. However Aud does not want
to move she wants to spend the remainder of her time
near her friends. This is understandable. She wants
us to move there. Even Andrew and Sue know this. Sue
was trying as hard as she could to discourage Cliff
from coming up there.

I said I was not that keen as I would miss my faimly
meaning my kids and grandchildren becaues unlike Sue
and Andrew's kids mine can't afford to spend money on
travel so it would be up to me to keep coming back to
the valley to see them.

I don't regard Andrew and Sue as family. Sue took
offensive at this as she said "I find that offensive."
But it is a fact Cliff and I are not married so I am
not in any way family to them.

Anyway I ended up crying and had to leave the room.
I think Sue was shocked that I cried but lately I have
been very emotional.

Anyway Cliff came out and I drove us back to the golf
club, after stopping to grab some KFC as I was straving.

A Dream Run

Of course Cliff and I were both anxious about
missing the plane. We planned on leaving no
later than 6.30 a.m. to catch it. I woke us
at at 5.50 a.m. as I had been awake for neraly
an hour! We left at 6.15! which was good.

We had a dream run and arrived at McDonald's a
block from Andrew's carpark at 8 a.m.!!!

We had breakfest. When we got to Andrew's the
girlsaid there was no record of a booking being
made. But they could fit us in. Left Andrew's
for the airport about 8.55 a.m which was lucky
as we had to wait in the check in line for about
40 minutes.

There were only about three people for the Rex
check in line and he said we should have made a
booking with them. I said their tickets were
$20 dearer which would explain why everyone was
flying on Virgin. We took off 5 minutes early,
but there were some head winds according to the
pilot and we arrived at 11.30 a.m. which was the
time we were due.

We then had to wait for the luggage and the car hire.

On the way to Audrey's, Cliff saw a garage sale
and of course we had to stop and have a look.
The phone rang and it was Audrey asking where we
were.

Arrived at her place about 12.30 p.m. to find
Andrew there waiting to see Cliff before he went
off to see the final of the local footie matches.

We stayed at Aud's for a while there we run around
all over the counrty side. We went along by a
stretch of bushland by the Murray that has been
'tidied' by the council. Cliff said everyone
would drive through it making tracks where ever
they went. All of these have been blocked off
so that now there is only one main track. Someone
had been through recently and created large ruts
some as deep as half a metre.

At certain points the hire car bottomed out. I was
sure we were going to lose the petrol tank at one
point.

I had bought Krispy Cremes from Melbourne and we
had had some with coffee before we came out. I
think on top of the bacon and egg muffin I had for
breakfest it must have caused too much fat to
enter my systrm as I spend all afternoon going to
the toilet. Had to get Cliff to stop the car at
one stage while I ran into the bush!!!

We ended up at the botanical gardens were I went
to the toilet as soon as we arrived and again
just before we left. While Cliff and Aud ate
scones with cream and jam and pieces of fruit pie
I was reduced to drinking bottled water!!

Rotten buggers!!

On the way back we called in at Sue and Andrew's
to say hello. He was still at the footie.

After this we went back to Mildura. Cliff loves
to say each time we cross the border well that is
another interstate trip I have taken you on!!

We booked in at the golf club were we stayed before.
This time we had room 5. Last time it was room 21.

After a siesta I sent Cliff to pick up Aud and we
all had tea at the club. It was not as good as last
time. I asked for steak and for it to be medium
but not the low end of medium that there is still
red blood in it but not well done so that it is
impossible to eat.

Because there was a wedding as well it was almost
45 minutes before we got our meals and the steak
looked good but I had eaten two thirds when suddenly
I found myself eating charred bits. Turned it over
and it was completely burned on the other side, we
are taking really charred!!

Called the waitress over and complained. The answer
came back that I had said medium to well done and my
reply was that 'well done does not mean so burned
that you cannot eat it!'

No offer of a refund, free meal, dessert or even a
free cup of coffee!! and the trouble was that because
I had only had breakfest and had virtually emptied out
everyting I was starving!!!

Anyway we went to the pokies and at least I got some
comfort there as we played for nearly two hours and I
had started off with $18 and ended up $22!! The steak
rockerfellow had cost $27, Aud paid for it. The 3
oysters kilpatrick that came with it, were also a
little charred on the bacon. But I just scraped that
part of and ate them.

It has been a couple of months since Cliff bought oysters,
but my favourote is oysters mornay and I have not found
one place in the last 15 years that does then thgat way!!!

When back to Aud's and was delighted to watch the end of
the footie and see Collingwood win as I'm sure it would
have made Don a happy boy. I left a message on his phone
but he never answered it.

Gina Rhinehart

Well I can understand why the average Aussie was
upset with her recent comments.

I wonder if she was just trolling or did she really
believe the rubbish she spouted.

I liked Will Anderson's response, something along
the lines of he agrees with her that the average
Australian does not try hard enough to be born the
only child of a billionaire.

I wonder why with all the money she has, why she
hasn't used some of it for weight reduction and a
face lift as she is a rather fat, ugly woman.

I know if I had what she has it would have been
done years ago. Fancy going though life chossing
to look like that!!!
