Christmas 2013

Kath did end up coming over with Kirsten for lunch. Meg
and Mick were the first here at 6 p.m. then Donald and Lisa
turned up. Kath had to make two trips with all the kids.
As Meg refused to go to Yallourn North to pick up the kids
but neither her nor Kath thought that Kath could have
ferried some of the kids to Meg's and then gone back to get
the rest! instead of driving all the way to Traralgon and
back!

It was a great day but they did not eat as much as I had
hoped. I was left with nearly all the adult triffle and
except for a small bowl that Kath ate from the child's
triffle, all of it.

As Kath was not expecting a present from anyone as she
knew Don, Meg and I had put in money to buy a new mower
as her Christmas and birthday present, nor was she
expecting any presents from the kids as Nathan used to
buy those.

So I bought a few small things for her so she would have
something.
Of course Kath went all emotional when Meg gave Kath a present and
said this is not just for now but for the future. Cliff
said "Probably a packet of condoms." Kath said "Don't
be silly." As it turned out, that was exactly what it
was. She had thought it was some sort of necklace like
a sister one. So for the rest of the day she was sour.

Christmas Eve

A quiet night we went to Sue and Allen's as usual. I
don't really like going because to tell the truth I have
absolutely nothing in common with any of the people there.

I only know Sue and Allen and they are talking to their
friends and children.

I sat in the T.V. room and watched the children's movie with
Sue's 11 year old granddaughter. A very nice child. She
reminded me of Talhia.

Little Things

Sitting on the loo and took THREE sheets of toilet paper and
thought that is too much I only need two sheets and an instant
memory came back to me of Aunty Josie, who said a person only
needed one sheet of toilet paper for a number one and two
separate sheets for a number two.

She was a generous person who would give you the shirt off
her back, yet her milk was always going off as she only ever
used a small amount in her tea and her bread was always stale
as you only needed one slice for a sandwich!

She was obviously trying to save money yet ended up wasting it!
