Still Busy!

On Monday I finished the front lawn and stuffed the
bin, thankfully with the heat the grass I had cut
saturday had dries and shrank down a bit but still
could not get the lid closed, but as the bins are
not collected till Wednesday morning and I am putting
it out on Monday night I think the same thing will
happpen and the new clipping will dry and shrink down
enough so the lid will close!

This is how bad I've been posted most of my Xmas cards
today. Not as bad as it seems as I only have 5 that
I post most are hand delivered.

Cliff is working today and only taking Xmas and Boxing
Day off.

He is driving to Bendigo to have Xmas lunch with his
mum and her family.

I am staying here to be with my family.

Busy Busy Busy !!!

I have had to go over to Morwell Saturday, Sunday and
Monday.

On Saturday I cut the entire back lawn. It nearly
filled the bin and I was exhausted by the time I
finished. I also put two loads of clothes on the
line.

On Sunday I was exhausted from staying up all night
trying to slove the puzzles on the new tablet.

I was on it from 7 p.m. till about 4.30 a.m. and
finally opened all the levels in the Movies 1 and
characters packages. All 8 levels, though I have
only sloved about an average 50% at each level,
but with very high points per solve. I am stll
on level 1 in the Movies 2 package. I have not
seen that many of them. Most of the movies seem to
be releases from 2011 and to be honest I have not
been taking out that many DVD's this year!

Jasmine's Eight Birthday Party

Every one says "poor Jassie" having a birthday
on 24th December (born at 8 pm.). But she has
TWO birthday cakes. The first about a week
earlier when we celebrate her birthday. It
was Sunday 16th this year and the other on her
actual birthday.

Meg and Mick gave her a Barbie play house.

That means that everyone of the girls has had a
doll play house.

I was going to give her a joint birthday Christmas
present but had to change my plans when the seven
piece swing set came on special, which is a present
for all the kids.

She still wants the honey bear from Cliff's shop,
but they are not his to give away.

I gave her a Dora explorer set set with a Teddy
Bear PJ bag, so the bear sits on her bed.

Unlike Dayne's birthday I remembered to take photos
ONLY now I can't seem to find the camera and I ALWAYS
keep it in my handbag so hopefully I have left it at
Cliff's!

Crazy Driver!

I was going down to Mid Valley (Morwell) with Kath to
do our Friday shopping and we were waiting at the lights
in Bridal Rd to cross Princes Drive to go to the center.

The right hand lane is RIGHT TURN ONLY, while the left
lane is left turn, straight or right turn.

The lights turned green and only because Kath is a new
driver and thus very conscious of what is going on that
we were not involved in an accident.

Some IDIOT in the right lane decided that he did not want
to turn right and preceeded straight ahead.

Luckily the driver in front of us WHO WAS TURNING RIGHT
also had good reactions and stopped so as not to run into
the idiot. We stopped too and thankfully there was no car
behind us.

Kath said that was just what we needed to be in an accident
just before Xmas.

12/12/12

Of course a lot of weddings happened today. The women
involved wanted a date that their idiot spouses could
remember!

Had lunch with Meg and mentioned this to her and couldn't
believe that she had not twigged to this. She said that
a girl in the office was amazed that her friend got married
on a WEDNESDAY! and strange they had a bridal reception
lunch at 12.12 p.m.

She said now she knew she could go back and explain it to
her. HA!!!HA!!!

Abode Flash Player A Pain In the A...!

I earn a few dollars answering on line surveys, and I do
mean a few dollars. I'm lucky if each site pays me $20-25
a year. Usually it is beacause "They have filled their
quota" which in some cases is amazing as I answer it the
moment it comes into my on box.

But of late there has been another problem. About two
months ago I had a survey that wanted me to have Adobe Flash
Player and I downloaded it but the survey said I could not
do it as I did not have the latest version of Adobe Flash
Player even though I had just down loaded it, I did it three
more times and still got the same message! gave up and deleleted
the survey. A few days later on a different web site I get the
same message and again I downloaded it but the same thing
happened. To cut a long story short this went on for two weeks
I must have downloaded the thing about ten times but the surveys
keep saying I don't have it on my system. So I gave my lap top
to Meg and she downloaded it and still it keep saying I don't
have it. Meg went into my computer and according to the files
Adobe Flash player IS ON MY SYSTEM!!!!

I mentioned this problem to Karen Roberts two weeks ago and she
said she is having the same problem. So now I can't do half
the surveys as there has been a serious problem with Adobe Flash
Player.

After The Concert

Anne said that she would come back to Morwell with me as
she wanted to buy some of the things she had been looking
at the other day for presents.

Turns out that David had driven her to Warragul but the
concert had not been too his liking so he said he would
look around the shops and he would come and pick her up
when she rang.

By the time we got back to Morwell it was lunch time and
I took her to Claudia's. After that she rang David and
we went around to the shop were she picked up the items she
wanted. I figured we had about half an hour before David
arrived so we went to mid valley where I got the pictures
we had been taking deleloped and gave her a set to keep.

When we got back to the shop David was waiting IN THE CAR!
He did not even go into the shop and talk to Cliff.

Anne said they were heading back Home early Saturday morning.

"Choir Man"

I didn't finish telling you about the concert. The
performer was Jonathon Welch, whom I have never
heard of. He had a lovely voice and I did enjoy the
concert. He did not have any CD's for sale but was
selling copies of his autobiography a % of which is
donated to the School of Hard Knocks Foundation.

He founded the choir of Hard Knocks for homeless kids
on the street. I did remember seeing something about
this choir on Current Affair or Today Tonight earlier
this year or it could even been late last year.

Brooke Is Here To Stay.

As I mentioned the other day Brooke is here. She and
her mother have had a real big fight over her boyfriend.
He is 18, which, as she is 16 and a half is about the
right age for her. Her mother has her on the pill, so
as long as they also wear condoms nothing too bad will
happen. But I still thing that 16 1/2 is not emotionally
mature enough to handle a sexual relationship.

She has gone to her school and asked for the paper work to
be transferred up here. She said that she will repeat next
year as people up here won't know she is repeating.

This is putting more pressure on Kirsten to come back to my
place as there is no room for her at Donald's.

Anne Surprises Me!

On Friday the 9th I was thinking of getting out of bed as it
was 10.10 a.m. when my mobile rang. It turned out to be Anne.
She said that she wanted to take me to the Warrgual Arts Center
to see a singer and she would pay for the tickets. I asked what
time was the show and she said 11 a.m. I said that I had to have
a shower and dress and it was a 40 minute drive so I might be a
'bit' late.

Well if there ever was a case of Murphy's Law this morning was a
perfect example!

I was comming out of my driveway when a police car passed by.
He stopped and 'gave me a warning' that I should be wearing my
seatbelt before thye car enters onto the road! Then I got the
red traffic light at the Jane St bridge. Turns out there was
road works on the entrance to the freeway which required me to
stop for a few minutes and drive at 40 instead of 80. Then
between the Yallourn-Yallourn North turn off and Moe there was
more road works. Thankfully I did not have to stop but had to
slow to 60 all the way. I caught every red light in Traf and
Yarrogon and also got caught behind vehicles that were doing
60 in the 80 zone and 40 in the 60 zone.

Then on coming to the turnoff to Warragul, there was a huge tanker
on the outside lane doing 80 and It was now just after 11 a.m. so
I went around it and lo and behold he then found top gear and
started to speed up and I MISSED the turn off completely and was
forced to go to Drouin as I also missed the THREE turnoffs to go
back along the highway to Warragul.

I choose to go along the old Princes Highway back to Warrgual as
I though it would be as easy as going back to the highway and of
course thre were ROADWORKS all the way and I was reduced to doing
60 instead of 100.

When I got to the Arts Center I saw Anne and got her attention.
She had been looking for my car but when I got in it this morning
I realised that I would not have enough petrol to get to Warragul
and back so I had been forced to go to the shop and swap cars with
Cliff. Luckily he was in the station wagon! Of course there was
no parking in the Arts center so I had to park in a lot across
the road and walk back to her. After all that I can't believe we
were ONLY 15 minutes late. But the singer only performed from 11
a.m. to 12.05 p.m. so we did miss a quarter of the show!

Lunch With Anne

Took Anne and David to Cafe Creme and had lunch with
them, as it was Wed 7th Nov, and I usually eat there on
Wednesdays, of course Meg and Kath was there, as was
Kirsten and Brooke.

Took photos of everyone.

But all too soon David and Anne said it was time to go
and they left about 3.30 p.m.

Meg had cancelled lunch with me orginally as Kath wanted
to talk to her alone. So they still did not get to talk
especially as both girls were there.

Anne had amused the girls (Brooke and Kirsten) by telling
them stories about me, when Anne and I were in primary
school. I should have got her to tell Kath more about
Kathleen Bisset, as Anne was Kathleen's better friend but
maybe I can get her to write to Kath and give her the goss.

Kirsten says that she has finally met someone shorter than
her mum! and boy can my friend TALK. That is funny as it
was always me talking when we were kids. But I was excited
to see her and couldn't eat and I think she was excited too
and that she way she was talking!

Anne Arranges a Visit.

I had a message early in the month that said Anne
and David were coming to Melbourne to visit David's
cousin at Wantina.

I spoke to Anne on Sunday night. She said that they
might be able to drop ion on the way home.

Then on Tuesday night I had an SMS from Anne asking
what time I would be home on Wednesday as they would
see me then.

I said I would be homw about 1.30 p.m. but then I was
home and at the shop by 11.30 a.m. and I realised I
would be there about that time so I sent a message
telling Anne that I would be at the shop at 11.30 a.m.
and gave her instructions on how to get there.

I had barely been at the shop 10 minutes when they
arrived!

I had thought it was 1991/1992 when I had last seen
Anne when she came down on the bus to see me get my
graduate degree.

But she said that it was 2004/2005 when she and David
last came down as they remembering meeting Cliff.

I had high hopes that I could talk Anne and David into
staying the night at Cliff's house (as Lena had put fresh
sheets on the bed) and then we could go to the club for
tea and then we could buy tickets in the raffle. Then
they could continue on their way home on Thursday.

But it turned out they were not on the way home but had
only come up to see me for the day and had left everything
at the cousin's and were on their way back there and were
still staying there a few more days.

Halloween 2012

As stated last year or maybe the year before this
tradition actually comes from Scotland. I have
noticed that it is becomming more popular in
Australia.

So this year I went out and bought 6 bags of lollies
that contained up to 18 individual wrapped lollies,
so that there woiuld be no concern about unwrapped
lollies.

Cliff came and picked me up and I went and stayed the
night at his house. As we left my street we noticed
a couple of kids out and about collecting. However
not one kid came to his door in Traralgon!!

So we have been eating the candy over the last two weeks
a few bars each each night. There is still about two
bags left! So we are not being toooooo bad!

Talking About Dumb Things.

The Current Affair episode about the schoolies
reminded me about an article that was in the
Age on Wed 29th August, 2012.

This article was about "9 Dumb Travel Experiences
Everyone Should Try."

These were:-
1. Do a coach trip of Europe. (Meg did this 3
years ago, and neither os us thought it dumb.)
2. Go to Oktoberfest. (Ross did that 5 years ago
and once agian I never thought of that as a
dumb thing.)
3. Go overland in Africa. (I don't think this
is dump so much as dangerous as it realyy is
risking your life!!!)
4. Have dorm room sex. (I guess this is great for
a man but rather embrassing to a girl, but who
knows with young people these days. Just look
at Big Brother to see what I mean! but please
do not think I watch this show it just happened
that I saw a scene this week about the people
in the house all sharing a bed and one man and
woman pulling the covers over their heads!!) As
usual this show was running well over into the
next time slot, which was the show I was waiting
to watch!
5. Do the London Thing. (Meg did thid last year and
loved it! Neither of us thought it was dumb. In
fact I thought it was almost a right of yung Aussie
kids to do the London thing.
6. Have something stolen. (Rather a stupid thing to
suggest as most travel agenices give tips on HOW
NOT TO HAVE THINGS STOLEN!!!)
7. Stay at an all inclusive resort. (Unlike all the
other suggestions, that can be underyaken by the
average traveller, this one is for people with
money.)
8. "Do" Vegas. This is one I would love to do!!
9. Party on a Thai island. ( Meg has done this about 4
times, in fact she loved it so much that after the
second time she took her brother on the 3rd time!
which turned out to be a good idea as in one bar
she most not have been watching her drink closely
enough as when she finished it she felt giddy and
was nearly unconscious and Donald being there was
able to take her safely to her room!

So really overall these suggestions were really not that
"dumb".

Dumb Things.

Last night I saw on Current Affair that there
is a website for schoolies about what they can
do on the Goldcoast during the week.

Have we become like the American teenagers who
go to Florida and do dumb things after their
finals?

There was nothing like this going on when I left
school in 1967. So when did this behaviour start?

The reason why it was on T.V. was that the items
recommended in some cases where dangerous eg.
"if offered drugs say yes as drugs are expensive!"
What happened to saying NO?? in other cases the
activity was actually illegal and could cause you
to end up in court on charges, great if you wanted
to go into the field of law as any chargable offence
precludes such a career.

What was even worse was that these recommendations
were coming from past schoolies that had particpated
in such things!!!

Things I Have To Do.

The local council elections this year is by
postal vote. Great only of course I lost the
envelope that is it to be posted back in! So
now I have to take in in, in person.

Of course life would have so much easier if I
had won the $50,000,000 in the Oz Lotto on
Tuesday but naturally as usual my life sucks
big time when it comes to money.

Meg is on at me about the fence claim at Yallourn
Nth. I have asked Kath to ask Bill next time she
sees him to get the photos of the fallen fence an
the quotes for its relacement. I asked her this
last Thursday but even though she has seen him she
forgot to ask!!

I was wondering if this was pay back for the fact
that I refused to wake up on Monday morning at
8.30 a.m. to ring the dental clinic for her. I
asked her why she couldn't do it and she said that
both she and Kirsten are out of credit. I asked her
why Donald couldn't do it for her. She said that he
would be at work and I pointed out he drives a truck
and it would only take two minutes to stop and ring
at 8.30 a.m. I suggested she ring Meg, as Meg would
be awake, getting ready for work at that time and she
could do it. Turns out that Kath did but then after
she dropped off Sam, on Monday morning, she came
around at 8.45 a.m. and woke me up to 'borrow' $27.50
to pay the dentist.

Donald is asking me what I am doing about the paper
work he gave me, re changing the house over into his
name. I don't even know where the paperwork is!!

Which reminds me that I don't know what I did with the
paperwork for the CT scan that the heart specialist
told me to have and that also reminds me that I still
have to claim on the payment I made to the heart
specialist.

I found the receipt to return the spray paint I
bought to do the car but need to change as the car
broke down and had to replaced, I had in on the heater
but now I don't know what I did with that either.

The boot of the car is so full I can't even put the
groceries in it.

I had to ask Kath to drive the mower down to the mower
place for them to have a look at it as it is now three
weeks and it is still not starting and of course he said
it would be ready the next day but it wasn't and it it
is suppose to rain tomorrow! so it will be another week
before I can cut it and it is now nearly 3 to 6 inches
tall, which reminds me Kath says the grass in the paddock
at Yallourn Nth is nearly 5 feet tall! and needs cutting
NOW!!!

I have to send away the entries in the crosswords
puzzles that I have been doing.

I haven't read a book in three months when I should be
back reading a book or two a week now that Kirsten is
at her mother's and refusing to come back! and since
when do adults allow 14 year olds to dictate where and
with whom they live?????

Ranting done!

Euchre Results

For the last couple of weeks that I have been
going to Euchre it has been terrible. We are
lucky if we have 8 people and that makes for
some very slow games and two or three are saying
that they are sick of it and want to quit, and
I am beginning to feel the same way.

We only had two new players this year but three
have dropped out that used to come.

Also I have been playing shit house the cards
never seem to fall my way. Even when I have a
reasonable night it turns out like, last night
when I got 121, which isn't too bad, that evryone
else also got in the 120's, in fact I was equal
second last out of 8 people. So it is putting me
off, when you keep losing all the time it does put
you off and I can understand why 'old' Roy' who
nearly always runs last is sick of playing.

Lazy Days

They talk about the lazy hazy days of Summer
but that is how I am feeling now. I just
don't feel like doing anything and what is
worse I have nothing to motivate me to do
anything. I think that is part of the reason
why I have been spending so much time at
Cliff's.

Another reason is when I do come home Kath is
on at me about Yallourn Nth and it is not me
holding things up. It is the workmen who
were told what to do two months ago and
STILL HAVE NOT DONE IT!!!

Saturday 29th September, 2012.

Went to Donald's to collect Cliff's presents, cake
and ballooons, but I got Kath to keep two pieces of
cake to give to Meg and Mick as Kath, Kirsten, Don
and Lisa were going there to watch the Hawthorn and
Swans teams play.

The Swans won, which I was pleased about for both Meg
and Kath and they were both pleased for themselves and
the memory of their dad as Swans was his team and they
knew he would have been thrilled at the win.

Anyway, Kath said she would drop off the things on her
way to Meg's. But when she got to my place it turned
out that Kirsten had fallen down the stairs at Don's and
burst one of the balloons, (I took a photo of one of the
balloons and one of the cake even though in the fall
Kirsten managered to turn it upside down).

So now I have a few photos to scrap for Cliff's birthday.

Birthday Cake

I had Cliff's sponge birthday cake made at Safeway
midvalley Morwell. I had gone to three shops in
Morwell and Kath had gone to two in Moe to try to
find the Carlton football symbol to put on the cake.
The best I could find was a rubber figure of a
Carlton football player but it looked more like a
'super hero' figure than a footballer.

When I took the figure in with candles, a large 6 and
0 to put on the cake they could not find the order.
Turns out it had been put in the wrong day, Sunday
rather than Friday. So it was a good thing that I was
putting them on the cake as if I hadn't I would have
ended up with no cake at all!!

I picked up the cake and then went to the party shop
to collect the ballons which were not blown up yet and
I had to wait for them. I delivered the cake to the
staff at the Club, but was so excited by the night that
I nearly forgot to have the staff bring it out.

People were leaving when I remembered!!

But I think only Meg, Mick and Keith missed out.

It had a blue-green icing on it and to be too delicate
I was shitting green poo till the following Wednesday!

Everyone said it was the best sponge cake they had
tasted as it was so fresh!

Cliff's Surprise 60th Birthday Party

This was held at The Morwell Club, Helen St,
Morwell at 6 p.m. on Friday 28th Sept, 2012.

I was running late after taking the cake and
ballons to the club so I swung past the shop
to see what Cliff was doing, as it was aready
5.30 p.m. Luckily Moniare was delivering
some goods Cliff had ordered, so Cliff had not
packed up and gone, but that also meant that
he might be still at the shop till after 6 p.m.
and I did not want him to turn up at the same
time as some of the guests.

I asked him to come and pick me up in 20 minutes
as I still had to go home and grab a quick
shower and change. He said he had already had
three beers and that I should come and pick him
up when I was ready.

Raced home like a mad woman and was just walking
out the door when Kath rang and said she and
Kirsten were still getting ready and had as yet
not been to the club and put the happy birthday
glitter on the table!

No sooner had I hung up from her call then the
phone rang again. Cliff said Gavin had turned
up at the shop and he had driven Cliff's car
to the club. Who should be there than Lena!
Cliff did seem surprised that she was there and
I acted as if I was surprised too Like "Lena??
Lena who?? oh LENA! well I guess she came because
I was telling her it was the last Friday of the
month and there were some good raffle prizes going."

As I got there Neil Stucky and his girlfriend were
checking in, I told them to wait and went to see
where Cliff was. Right in the dinning room under
the T.V.!! John was with him. I asked him how come
he was watching T.V. when normally he would be
in the poker room? John had the job of keeping
him in there till most of the people turned up.
Cliff said he thought I might like to order tea,
and I said not right now maybe in half and hour.
As John had told me that he was giving Cliff and I
a voucher for dinner for two and a bottle of wine
as Cliff's birthday present, I had to delay our
tea order.

As it was already 10 past 6 I was expecting most
of the people to turn up in the next ten minutes.

As he was getting up to make his way to the poker
room I saw Neil and his girlfriend walking into
the dinning room and I waved frantically at them
to go back out and turned back to Cliff who luckily
was still focused on the T.V. news and had not seem
them. They were just disappearing out of sight when
Cliff walked out to the poker room, through the bar
area. As soon he was gone I raced out and grabbed
them and sat them at the table. Then rounded up
Lena who had been sitting with Cliff and Ross watching
the news with her son Daniel. Ross took all Cliff's
things and they moved to the big table.

It was then a matter of waiting for everyone else to
come. Meg and Mick were next to arrive. I took
some nice photos of them. Then Kath and Kirsten
came at about 6.25 p.m. and put the glitter on the
table.

I was still waiting for Jess and Sam to come as
well as Darren his wife and child and Stef.

At 6.30 p.m. Donald showed up with Sam and Connor,
which I had not expected as I thought he would
come with Lisa at 8 p.m. when she returned from work.

I then went into the poker room and who shoulod be
there but Stef!! I was sure that would ruin the
surprise because Stef never comes to the Morwell club.

I shooed him out to the dinning room and told Cliff
to come and order tea. He said I could order for him
and I said no come and order with me.

Ross said that Keith had gone off home with some
mates and slab and some dope at about 5.30 p.m. so he
might not come and I said ring him and tell him to get
his arse here now!

Well Cliff walked through the bar area and was half
way to the table under the T.V. when I called him
and said "Surprise" welcome to you 60th Birthday
party.

Even if he had almost guessed with Stef's arrival
he still acted stunned to see everyone there.
It was nice and I was so excited I never took
another photo!! Not even of the birthday boy himself!

Disappointed that Darren and family never showed but
more so that Angela, Sarah and Jess never came, as
they are my family after all.

Baby Sitting Duty

Thursday afternoon Kath asked me to come around
at about 5.30 p.m. and baby sit so she could go
and hang plaster with Donald, at Yallourn North.

I think Adam may have been there as well

"Baby's" Back.

As Kath had the other four children for the week
I have had Kirsten for the week.

Went to Officeworks over the week end and got
cardboard and compass and drew circles and cut
them up into half, quarter, thirds, fifths and
sixths to help her understand fractions.

So Monday night we are at Cliff's and I asked her
to do the sums and she refused. It took an hour
to get her to do one.

I went to the kitchen to finish the wasing up as
she was being so stuborn, the next thing I know
she takes off. I ran out and called out at the
top of my lungs that if she did not come back I
would ring the police and I would give her to the
count of 12.

She did not come back.

I rang the police and waited. An hour later Kath
rang to say that Kirsten had rung her and she had
come from Morwell leaving the other kids alone
to pick her up. WHY SHE DID NOT BRING HER BACK TO
CLIFF'S IS A MYSTERY. I had to go all the way to
Morwell, to pick Kirsten up.

When we got back, Cliff read her the riot act for
about 45 minutes. He was drunk and kept repeating
himself and of course Kirsten just sulked and didn't
say a word. Finally she agreed to do the sums and
low and behold it took about three minutes to do the
three sums!!! I told her we would do the harder ones
later.

Ross even went on the internet and downloaded and
printed up some colour sheets showing fractions which
was thoughtful of him considering the crap she gave
him not that long ago.

Coming Back

Received an email on Sunday night that said
because of the construction at Mildura airport
we had to be there an hour before our flight!
When went to Melbourne it said half an hour
before the flight (which if we had of done
we would have been in trouble as it was 45
minutes in the check in line.)

So we arrived at 11 a.m. Cliff went to drop off
the car and there was no one there. I said if
the man opened only half an hour prior to the
plane taking off we had a problem as we had to
go through the security section by 11.30 a.m.
which was also half an hour before the plane
was due to leave and once through you can't
came back out till the plane takes off.

Aud was suppose to come through with us but
was talking to a friend and we went through
and then she said she couldn't go through which
was wrong and we could not understand what she
was saying through the glass window. Pretty
annoying as there were things that needed to
be said.

She had asked us to come to her place early as
she gave Cliff the paper that allows him and one
of his brothers to "turn off the machine" if it
comes to that.

I asked when she needed us to move up to help out
and she said within six months, at least not before
Xmas. I said January as I would be bringing Kirsten.

The rest of the trip home was pretty uneventful.

The pilot made a gaffe. Everyone laughted when
he said "Those people landing in Sydney could get
their connecting fight to Brisbane..." that's when
he realised we were landing in Melbourne.

A Lovely Sunday

We started the day at Andrew and Sue's. A lovely
fresh breakfest with bacon and scrambled eggs for
me. Cliff started with strawberries but Sue put
out youghurt to dip them in. Needless to say I
did not dip but Cliff the grot double dipped!
Thankfully Sue did not see and Audrey scopped
the yoghurt he had 'spoiled' onto his plate. He
still didn't seem to think he had done anything
so bad.

We went to see Brian. He was saying that most of
the growers had a bad season because although their
crop was good the companies were importing organges
cheaper from California than they could buy them
here and that is beacuse of the cheap Mexician labour
whereas here the pickers are paid $80 a ton and the
companies are only paying $30 a ton to buy them.
So the growers didn't bother to pick them but are
just letting them rot on the trees.

Had tea at Andews as well but it was only snack food,
most of which e.g. imported cheeses on crackers and
spicy salami meats, I don't eat.

Andrew and Cliff played three games of pool and I
think Andrew let Cliff win. He really is not a good
loser.

Went inside for a cuppa which I never had. The fact
is Andrew said he was pleased to see us and wanted us
to take Aud to live with us. However Aud does not want
to move she wants to spend the remainder of her time
near her friends. This is understandable. She wants
us to move there. Even Andrew and Sue know this. Sue
was trying as hard as she could to discourage Cliff
from coming up there.

I said I was not that keen as I would miss my faimly
meaning my kids and grandchildren becaues unlike Sue
and Andrew's kids mine can't afford to spend money on
travel so it would be up to me to keep coming back to
the valley to see them.

I don't regard Andrew and Sue as family. Sue took
offensive at this as she said "I find that offensive."
But it is a fact Cliff and I are not married so I am
not in any way family to them.

Anyway I ended up crying and had to leave the room.
I think Sue was shocked that I cried but lately I have
been very emotional.

Anyway Cliff came out and I drove us back to the golf
club, after stopping to grab some KFC as I was straving.

A Dream Run

Of course Cliff and I were both anxious about
missing the plane. We planned on leaving no
later than 6.30 a.m. to catch it. I woke us
at at 5.50 a.m. as I had been awake for neraly
an hour! We left at 6.15! which was good.

We had a dream run and arrived at McDonald's a
block from Andrew's carpark at 8 a.m.!!!

We had breakfest. When we got to Andrew's the
girlsaid there was no record of a booking being
made. But they could fit us in. Left Andrew's
for the airport about 8.55 a.m which was lucky
as we had to wait in the check in line for about
40 minutes.

There were only about three people for the Rex
check in line and he said we should have made a
booking with them. I said their tickets were
$20 dearer which would explain why everyone was
flying on Virgin. We took off 5 minutes early,
but there were some head winds according to the
pilot and we arrived at 11.30 a.m. which was the
time we were due.

We then had to wait for the luggage and the car hire.

On the way to Audrey's, Cliff saw a garage sale
and of course we had to stop and have a look.
The phone rang and it was Audrey asking where we
were.

Arrived at her place about 12.30 p.m. to find
Andrew there waiting to see Cliff before he went
off to see the final of the local footie matches.

We stayed at Aud's for a while there we run around
all over the counrty side. We went along by a
stretch of bushland by the Murray that has been
'tidied' by the council. Cliff said everyone
would drive through it making tracks where ever
they went. All of these have been blocked off
so that now there is only one main track. Someone
had been through recently and created large ruts
some as deep as half a metre.

At certain points the hire car bottomed out. I was
sure we were going to lose the petrol tank at one
point.

I had bought Krispy Cremes from Melbourne and we
had had some with coffee before we came out. I
think on top of the bacon and egg muffin I had for
breakfest it must have caused too much fat to
enter my systrm as I spend all afternoon going to
the toilet. Had to get Cliff to stop the car at
one stage while I ran into the bush!!!

We ended up at the botanical gardens were I went
to the toilet as soon as we arrived and again
just before we left. While Cliff and Aud ate
scones with cream and jam and pieces of fruit pie
I was reduced to drinking bottled water!!

Rotten buggers!!

On the way back we called in at Sue and Andrew's
to say hello. He was still at the footie.

After this we went back to Mildura. Cliff loves
to say each time we cross the border well that is
another interstate trip I have taken you on!!

We booked in at the golf club were we stayed before.
This time we had room 5. Last time it was room 21.

After a siesta I sent Cliff to pick up Aud and we
all had tea at the club. It was not as good as last
time. I asked for steak and for it to be medium
but not the low end of medium that there is still
red blood in it but not well done so that it is
impossible to eat.

Because there was a wedding as well it was almost
45 minutes before we got our meals and the steak
looked good but I had eaten two thirds when suddenly
I found myself eating charred bits. Turned it over
and it was completely burned on the other side, we
are taking really charred!!

Called the waitress over and complained. The answer
came back that I had said medium to well done and my
reply was that 'well done does not mean so burned
that you cannot eat it!'

No offer of a refund, free meal, dessert or even a
free cup of coffee!! and the trouble was that because
I had only had breakfest and had virtually emptied out
everyting I was starving!!!

Anyway we went to the pokies and at least I got some
comfort there as we played for nearly two hours and I
had started off with $18 and ended up $22!! The steak
rockerfellow had cost $27, Aud paid for it. The 3
oysters kilpatrick that came with it, were also a
little charred on the bacon. But I just scraped that
part of and ate them.

It has been a couple of months since Cliff bought oysters,
but my favourote is oysters mornay and I have not found
one place in the last 15 years that does then thgat way!!!

When back to Aud's and was delighted to watch the end of
the footie and see Collingwood win as I'm sure it would
have made Don a happy boy. I left a message on his phone
but he never answered it.

Gina Rhinehart

Well I can understand why the average Aussie was
upset with her recent comments.

I wonder if she was just trolling or did she really
believe the rubbish she spouted.

I liked Will Anderson's response, something along
the lines of he agrees with her that the average
Australian does not try hard enough to be born the
only child of a billionaire.

I wonder why with all the money she has, why she
hasn't used some of it for weight reduction and a
face lift as she is a rather fat, ugly woman.

I know if I had what she has it would have been
done years ago. Fancy going though life chossing
to look like that!!!

Good News/Bad News

Lately Kath has been hounding me with ths refrain.

Finally received a payout from the insurance company
re the tenant damage at Yallourn North.

It was $10,000 less than the quotes I presented to
them. So Don Jr has said he will do most of the
work if I can give him some of the money (if any)
that is left over!

At the rate things are going this does not look
likely.

The kitchen cupboards were to cost $2,000 and ended
up being $2,400.

Then after he removed the asbestos from the sunroom
he found that there were borers in the wood and that
cost an extra $1,000 to rip out the wood and replace
and treat. Hope the same thing has not happened in
the laundry.

In doing the laundry he found that the floating floor
that Hyden and Sid put in was not the correct wood and
is rotting so had to pull it out and when he was
removing the toilet he 'accidently' broke it. I wonder
how much Kath was involved in that, as she has been
asking for a new bowl for two weeks and I said NO as
the old one was only 5 years old. I have had the bowls
in my place for over twenty years!!!!

Neither of these thngs were covered by the insurance money
but the replacemnets will have to come from that money, so
what I saved on the asbestos quote will be eaten up by
these expenses.

Scrapbooking Memories

Over this last weekend, I received an e-mail
from the Magstore re a special offer. It was
ten issues of either SM or Creating Keepsakes.

I chose to have 10 issues of SM, but not matter
what I did I could not get past the address label.
It just kept me going around in circles.

I have NEVER ordered on line from this store.
It insisted I was an old customer and had to log
in to continue but when I tried that it insisted
I was a new customer and sent me back to the
address label again.

I spent an hour on this on Saturday and Sunday
and just gave up in frustration.

The Cardiologist

So Meg and I leave to go to Dandendong for my
appointment with the caridologist. We leave at 11.30
which she said was WAY too early but it turned out to
be a good thing as there was some hold up just before
Berwick.

We never found out what was causing it, just that there
were a solid two lanes of traffic bumper to bumper moving
about 10kms an hour, for a good half an hour.

We got there about 1.15 p.m. had a sandwich and a coffee.

Got up to the unit at 1.35 p.m. I was to be there 15
minutes before the appointment. So we were in plenty of
time. When we went in, he asked why we did not got to
Warragul and see him there and I said "No one told me
that was an option." because of cause it is better to
drive for 40 minutes (one way) rather than 90 minutes
(one way)!!!

He said everything is fine. I don't have to see him
again. He wants a CT scan of my head to see what was
causing (if it is still there ) the pain on the day I
went to hospital (30th June).

Afterwards we went to Krispy Kreme and bought a coffee
and two donuts. I was allowed to drink the coffee in
Meg's car but not the donuts so I had those and shared
them with Kirsten after the R.S.L. that night.

Golden Birthday

I have no idea where Kath came up with this title.
She has told her children that this birthday is
when the date of your bithday matches your age,
e.g. Kirsten was born on the 19th thus when she
turns 19 this will be her golden birthday!

Thus Talhia who was born on the 10th August 2002
had her golden birthday on the 10th of this month.

Aunty Meg took her to Melbourne to see "Annie,"
tickets were Adult $140!! so I declined to go.
It must have cost Meg cost to $200 just for tickets,
then snacks and even getting there on the train
meant that the outting was close to $300!!!

Sent Home

Well all good things come to an end and my stay
at Cliff's ended on Wednesday 1st August.

I must say I was surprised at Ross, twice he
asked me if I wanted soup when he was heating
up some, and once he cooked a full meal and asked
me if I wanted some! In the 16 years I have been
with his father that is the first time he has
shown any consideration for me at all!!!

Any way what with going home I was so preoccupied,
that the fact it was Keith's birthday slipped my
mind till about a week later. I don't even think
his father remembered the actual day!

Kirsten's Day

On Friday 20th we went to the Morwell club as
usual for tea and the Friday night raffle.

However Kath bought a cake and we celebrated
Kirsten's 14th birthday.

We did not win anything but we had a great night.

Maddie and Kirsten went to dance first so we
had plenty of time to do the cake.

Kirsten was surprised and delighted especially
as Auntie Meg and Mick came as well.

The "Twins" Have Their Birthday.

Ross was 33 on Thursday 19th of July and Kirsten turned 14.
I shall always remember him banging his head on the wall
next to the phone when I told him Kath had a baby girl
born on the 19th. He said "She stole my birthday!!"

Cliff and I took him to the R.S.L. for tea. Both Ross
and I had steak. I rarely have steak but I enjoyed every
mouthfull. Ross said his steak was enjoyable too. We all
went and played the poker machines and while Cliff won $100,
I won $30 and Ross won $10.

So we all enjoyed the night and came away winners!

I See My Doctor ( But Does He See Me???)

I got in to see my Doctor on Tuesday 17th July. I
waited 1 hour and 10 minutes and this is what I got
a stare and he then said "What have I been saying?"

He did not take my blood pressure nor weight.

He just said he read what the hospital had sent
and it means no more cheese, sugar or chocolates.

None of which I have much anyway as pasteries are
my down fall.

I said I was staying with my fiance and he said that
was a good idea and maybe another two weeks there
before I try going home and being on my own.

He then said he see me in a month and shooed me out
the door. The visit took all of two minutes!

63 at Last!!!

Wednesday the 11th of July was my 63rd birthday.
For a change I celebrated it on the actually day
by having tea at the Morwell club.

It was Wednesday night raffle so we had tickets
but were not lucky enough to win anything.

Don Jr was there, Lisa came later as she has to
come from Melbourne.

Mick and Mick were there. Kath and Kirsten and
of course Cliff and my self.

I had a lovely meal and a good time it was great
just to be alive to see my family again.

It was tring though and I called it a night just
before 9 p.m.

Because Cliff had indulged a little I had to drive
his car home.

Home at Last!!!

As it turned out I was not allowed to go home till
Monday evening as I developed a cough and a temp.

They did cultures on my blood but could find nothing,
and my urine was okay.

They did an Xray and a sonagram of my heart but
again found everything to be ticketie boo.

I started to bring up phelm, a yellow colour but not
that horrible almost green colour.

The doctor said it was most likely a viral infection
and should clear up in about ten days, it actually
took 32 days to clear up!!

I was told to see my doctor within a week and they
would forward all the information to him.

Cliff very grudgingly came and got me. Kath was
with him and they chatted most of the way back.

I am actually staying at Cliff's for a week till
I see my doctor.

Liar, Liar Pants On Fire

My cardio bloke at Dandenong did not agree with the
assessment from Monash after my test on Wednesday so
sent me back for another test. He said it was a dye
ultra sound, but as it turned out it came after another
anigram but this time they did it through the groin not
the wrist and doped me up more.

I said no I was not having the anigram the techinican
insisted I was.. I think I must have gone into shock
as I started crying and then began to shake and it got
very cold and my teeth started to chatter.

It turnes out it was better than in the right wrist.

After effects of having it in the right wrist. They
put a band on the wrist to stop bleeding and blow it up
with air so tight that you think your hand is going to
fall off. It is about six hours before the pain is at
a bearable level. Then you have to pretend the wrist
is broken for two days so you don't twist or move it in
such a way as to start bleeding. I asked why it wasn't
done in the left wrist and they said it was because the
machine was made that way. Obviously created by a left
handed person to get back at right handed people.

Via the groin meant I felt like my bladder was going to
burst for two hours as I could't walk to the toilet and
found it impossible to use the bedpan.

However if ever given the choice again I want it through
the groin!

The Dr here was very pleased as this scan showed things
were not as bad as first thought and everyone now feels
I should be alright if I just take medication.

Looks like I'm going home Sunday.

have to try to remember what it was all about for next
time!!!

Bumped

It was organised that I was to be sent to Monash on Monday
at 1 p.m. for my procedure but at 10.15 a.m. a nurse came
in and told me I was not going as there had been an
emergency.

It is like stand by on a plane and you get bumped, you just
have to wait around for the next flight.

The nurse had already started me on saline solution and I
had missed my morning tea. So I asked straight away could
I have a cuppa as I missed out.

Meg and Kirsten turned up at 11 a.m. Meg said it took over
half an hour to find a parking spot and then they had to park
2 blocks away. Of course Kirsten complained about the walk.

As soon as Kirsten settled in I told her what the doctor had
said about stress and from now on she would have to be nicer
to me if I am to be around for her 18th Birthday.

I had to go to the toilet and I asked her if she wanted to
see me die? Then I unpluged the machine that moniters my
heart rate and it flat lined.

She nearly had a fit, Meg and I laughed at the look on her
face.

They stayed till 1 p.m. and then went to Fountain Gate to see
a moive "About a Boy."

I had an afternoon nap and they came back about 4 p.m. Kirsten
was only here ten minutes when she wanted to go on Facebook.

I suggested she use my computer but Meg said it was easier to
use her phone and an hour later her phone was flat. Meg then
complained for about an hour that her phone was flat. Kirsten
ended up using my computer after all. She put on Facebook that
these were the best holidays ever. Still all about her, can't
believe that she wrote that if she was thinking about me in
the hospital with a herat attack.

"When is A Heart Attack a Heart Attack?"

According to the flyer the Southern Health Dandenong
Hospital, in David st, Dandenong, gave me, when the
following happens:-
ONE or More of the common symptoms-
1. Discomfort or pain in the center of the chest,
often described as a heaviness a tightness or pressure,
commonly describred "it was like an elephenat sat on my
chest" "like a belt being pulled tight around my chest"
or "very bad indigestion."
2. Discomfort in upper body in
arm (s)
shoulder (s)
neck
jaw
back
You may have a choking feeling in your throat. Your
arms may feel heavy and useless.
3. Other signs
shortness of breath
nauseous
cold sweat
dizzy or light headed.

I woke up at 4 a.m. Saturday 30th June. I stayed in bed
doing email and playing computer games till 8.45 a.m.
I got up then and ran my shower and while waiting for
the hot water I went to the toilet for a number 2. As I
got off the toilet a searing pain shot through the front
of my head as if someone had stabbed it with a knife.
I instantley called out and tears sprung to my eyes. I
keep moaning I couldn't stop and I was thinking there is
SOMETHING terribly WRONG!!!

I think I had the quickest shower ever, I had to as I
missed one on Friday.

As I came out to get dress, pain still bad now 9 out of
10, Kirsten came into the room and wished me good morning.
I explained I needed her to help me as I had a searing
pain in the head, and I was going to the hospital after
I dropped her off at netball.

The hospital would be about 6 kms from my house. The net
ball court about 1 km, on the way to the hospital. Kirsten
got out of the car and said what about her gear which was
in the car as she was spending the night with Charmaine,in
a girl's sleep over. I said I woulkd drop it off after I
finished at the hospital.

I had turned on to the highway about 4 kms from the hospital
when more pain srtuck, this time it was as if someone had
sat on my chest. I had pain on the left side as if someome
was squashing my heart. I though great now I've bought on a
panic atatck thinking I could have a brain bleed.

Got to the hospital and they took me straight through it
was 9.25 a.m. Did urine test, everything O.K. The ECG was
'normal' blood pressure was 167 over 103!! The highest it
has ever been. When I was pregnant with Kathleen towards the
end of the nine months it went to 130 over 95. I told them
high blood pressure is NOT one of my problems usually it is
about 120-125 over 80-90.

They did two blood tests and the nurse tried twice to get it
but the venins rolled away as usual so the doctor did it
on the back of the right hand and it keeps getting caught
on everything as I am right handed and boy does that hurt
about a 1 to 2, like the pain when ever they take my blood
pressure and the band is so tight I think it is going to
sever my arm!!

The results from the protein test came back about 11 a.m.
and it turns out that a particular heart enzyme was high.
This occurs when there is damage to heart muscle.

They did another ECG about 1 p.m. and this one showed there
were changes, now not the nurse nor the GP were talking
'heart attack', but the doctor was hedging with there is
a possibility that there has been a 'heart episode.'

The doctor said the blood test needed to be repeated which
it was at 3 p.m. She said that if the result was that
there was a fall or about the same amount of the enzyme
then I could go home. The result came back just after 4
p.m. Meg was there and the nurse said "The doctor will
discuss the result with you." Turns out the result was
higher.

The heart specialist came around and said "Well it looks
like you had a heart attack" Finally a straight answer!!

He said they were orgainising for me to be send to Melbourne
to have a coronary angiogram done, as they were not done
locally. They tried to get me into Monash where the procedure
is done but there were no beds available so I was sent to
Southern Health.

I left Tralagon Hospital just after 11 p.m. and was here just
after 1 a.m. Sunday.

The cardic doctor came around to see me about 9 a.m. Sunday
and he said he was conservative "You have had a heart event."

So as I asked at the beginning
"When is a Herat Attack a Heart Attack??"

"Where Were You When The Earth Shook?"

Tuesday the 19th june at 8.50 p.m. Cliff and I
were watching T.V. as he decided not to go to
chess.

The walls of the house and the nick nacks began
to shake. It lasted 2 maybe 3 seconds. I looked
at Cliff and said "earthquake". Before I had
finished the word the walls and nicks nacks began
dancing again this time much stronger and for
about 5 to 6 seconds.

We walked outside to have a look as he still thought
it was a truck that might have crashed, derspite the
fact that we went throught an earthquake in about 2000
and it was exactly the same. I reminded him the same
thing happened to me when I was 8, with mum in our
house in Hurstville N.S.W.

When the earthquake struck in 2000 I had said the
same thing. The memory had instantly come back to
me. It was not something I was ever likely to
forget. Mum and i had thought it was a truck that
had crashed and went out side to look but there was
nothing and on the news that night they said it was
an earthquake that had struck around Bulli way.

The new neighbour across have Cliff had only moved
in that day and she came out but noone else did.
She had thought it was a truck and I told her what
it was. We went back inside and turned on pay T.V.
to the all news channel and about 15 minutes later
they started to say there were unconfirmed reports
of an erath quake in Victoria.

By an hour after the quake it was the only thing on
the News and we found out that it had started just
south of Moe bwtween Churchill and Moe. It was the
biggest quake in Victoria for ( one report said 60
years and another said 140 years) but whichever it
was the largest one I had experienced, and the
closest. The one in 2000 was out Geelong way about
200 kms away and the one in Sydney was also about
200 kms away. This was was about 3 kms south of
Morwell and about 7 kms east. So it was lucky I was
not at home at the time.

Cliff said he wondered how many people were in bed
having sex when it happened so that the earth really
"Did move" for them. I said at 8.50 p.m. not many,
so what do you think? and where were you?

Depression

I have been depressed since the fight with Kirsten and her
being send to her mother's. I have spent five days a week
at Cliff's just veging out.

Academdy of Dance Trivia Night.

Of course Don Jr rang back later on Friday night to say he was sorry.
But of course that does not change the horrible thing he said to me.
I'm sure Lisa had some say in that phone call. Kirsten also said sorry.
I say "Ha, what are you sorry for?" She gave the phone back to Don
and refused to speak to me. Kath asked me to take her to the Trivia
night so Kath could have the other kids. I asked Don to bring her
to the dinner.

I rang Leonie and asked her to have Kirsten on the Saturday night.
She told me her father-in-law had died the day before.

When Don and Lisa arrived at the top pub I asked Kirsten did she
know Rob's dad and she said the family visited him every week end so
she was quite familiar with him. I told her he had died the day
before and gave her a card to fill out and give to Leonie and Rob.

I asked her to put at the bottom of the card in brackets Kath and
Gloria. She threw it at me and said "You do that." She had made
out the card to "Aunty Meg". Another example of the child not
listening to what I had said to her.

Meg managed to change the Meg into Leonie without too much trouble
though it was hard disguising the trailing part of the "g".

When Kirsten found out that Leonie was coming to take her for the
night she gave me a dirty look and said "You couldn't even have me
for one night!" I answered NO. She refused to speak to me for the
rest of the dinner and when I went to kiss her goodbye she pulled
away and said "Don't you dare." This child really deserves a slap
across the face for her rudness and churishness.

We had not finished our dinner by 7 p.m. when the Trivia Night was
suppose to start. Thankfully it did not begin till 7.30 p.m.

I made Meg the scribe, so that way if she chose the wrong answers
she would not be able to crack at anyone other than herself.

She chose one answer from Lisa over George's answer, which turned
out to be correct. She also chose her answer over mine re a picture
of a movie star and my answer was right.

It did not make too much difference we would have been third last
instead of second last but at least we were not LAST!!!

However it would not have been appropriate for Kirsten to have been
there.

Meg said we have to improve. The only answer that Birdman gave out
was wrong and his wife did not answer any questions. Tony and Karen
were missed, Bev is fun but does not usually answer any questions.

We did help raise quite a bit of money for Maddy and Kirsten's dance
school.

I bid on a mid valley coin and paid $25. It was a $50 coin which I
can use at Bunnings for more paint for Yallourn Nth. Meg bid $15 on
6 beer glasses that are a good brand. She said she had checked them
out that week in House but was not willing to use one of her $50
vouchers for them so that was a saving. Mick said there was only a
few things they bought from there as they had most of what they wanted
in 'that sort of thing.' I wonder then what they will do with all the
vouchers. There was a chemist pack up for bids and someone bid $55 on
it and I said it was not worth it and who would bid that kind of money
on it and all he heard was "bid" and "money" and he then bid $60 on it.
So thankfull someone else raised the bid!!! I told him "NO" and then
repeated myself and he said "oh." Don't know who is worse at ignoring
what I say him or Kirsten.

I was disappointed to see that the two gift certificates for $20
worth of used books from The Nook and Cranny were the last two items
to be selected by the raffle ticket winners. Even the (6) one per
winner, $10 deli bakehouse vouchers went before our vouchers did!
A sad reflection on our society that they would chose $10 worth of
bread over $20 worth of books.

But over all not a bad night and Meg enjoyed her meal and got some
more cards and presents, though she wants to exchange her candles
for different ones. She reckons the Spruce smells like the toilet
blocks in the men's toilet. They are suppose to remind one of Xmas
trees!!!

Black Friday

Of course it was a Friday! I have mentioned that nearly every
thing 'bad' that happens to me occurs on a Friday.

I went to the school to pick up Kirsten for her to clean up
the mess she left at my place. She bought the clothes in from
the line and put away the dishes but when I asked her to wash
out the bins (2 from her room and our recycling bin, which she
had put something in that left 'goo' all over it) she refused.

She rang her mother. Kirsten told me her mother said she only
had do do her rooms not clean up all this other stuff I was
asking her to do.

I told her she was in my care and when she was she had to do
what I told her to do. Thus if she did not clean out the bins
she would be in trouble.

I went into the house and started making sandwiches for us. I
went out to tell her the sandwiches were ready only to find she
had not done the job and not only that but she had 'run off'.

I threw as much of her stuff as I could out onto the front lawn.

Send a message to her mother to come and pick it up.

I am sick of Kirsten running to Kath and Kath underminding my
authority with Kirsten.

I send a message to Kath to find another house to live. Why
should I rent out my house to her for $100 a week when I can
get $150 through an agent, especially when she is supporting
Kirsten in her rebellous behaviour?

Don came around with Kath and they all picked up the clothes
and rubbish. Kath refused to give me the keys to Yallourn Nth.
I told her not to attempt to remove any furniture or white
goods from the house as she does not own them. They are in my
name. She has not really even started paying for them yet as
all the money she gives me goes to the money she owns from all
her grocery and other shopping.

Don yelled at me that he would take the furniture any time as
Kath had paid for it. The cost is $4000 and Kath has paid less
than $200.

I said in that case I would have them charged with theft and
Don replied "You f..king mole, see how long it will be then till
your house burns down."

At that point I went inside. Don said said something about "Now
dad is dead" but did not finish it and then "If you are having
problems with Cliff don't take it out on us!!" The only problems
I am having at the moment is with Kirsten, Kath and now Donald.

Meg Says "I'm in my mid-30's"

On the 31st May (officially at 11.59 p.m.) Meg turned 35!
She had lunch with Kath. I took Kirsten around to see her
at home at 6 p.m. and she came around to my place to watch
DH with me.

I gave her a Coles mini cup cake (chocolate of course) with
one huge candle lit on it at the first ad. She laughted.
Then took a picture with her phone.

I gave her the other three chocolate cupcakes to take home.

We are really celebrating her birthady with tea at the
top pub on Saturday 2nd June.

Kirsten Creates A Fuss

Kirsten was having a bad time at school last week. So when
she asked to have Lexie stay over on Tuesday night after
netball I said yes. Althought I always had the rule with
my kids that could be no one staying overnight if they had
school the next day. The thing is I have not had Kirsten
since the beginning, thus it is hard to establosh rules when
she has been allowed to do what every she likes when ever
she likes.

I thought she was showing off for Lexie when I went in at
8 p.m. to collect her phone. She had been using it
to acess Facebook sometimes as late as 1 a.m. in the
morning on a school night. No wonder she was tired and
irrrable at school and getting into trouble. She screamed
at me to "Wait" and continued to use it. I was not having
it. I told her not to speak to me in that manner and she
had to the count of ten to hand over the phone, as I was
missing my T.V. show standing there. So I counted to ten.
She still continued to use the phone, so I nudged her in
her side, as she was laying on the floor and said "Now."
Once more she screamed "Wait" at me, so I just unplugged it
from the power point and took it and the charger away.

The next day she was still upset with me, so I went down to
Headspace to see if she could see Bonnie.

They said no she would just have to see the duty officer.

However she did not come home from school but went to the
park with friends as I rang her to find out where she was.

So I took her on Thursday. The woman she spoke to asked to
see Kath.

When Kath came out I asked if she wanted to se me but Kath
said No. I'm driving away and asked "May I be allowed to
know why she wanted to speak to you." Kath said it was to
organise Kirsten to stay with her for two weeks.

The more I have though about it the angier I have become.

However will I be able to control Kirsten's behaviour if when
she gets the shits with me she can run to them and manipulate
them into letting her 'run' off to somewhere else.

This woman had no right as DHS had placed her in my care!

Then Kirsten says it was "because I kicked her." Must admit
I screamed "What??. Turns out she is claiming that the 'nudge'
I gave her with my foot on Tuesday night was in fact a 'kick'.

Could not do anything about it at that stage. On Friday morning
I rang the doctor and we had to wait nearly all morning to get
in to see the him. I asked him to look at the 'kicked' area
and took a photo of it. I said there is not even a mark and
Kirsten claims it is because it 'was 3 days ago' The child
does not know that if I had really kicked her by the time 3
days had passed there would be lovely purple and blue brusing
with maybe a tinge of yellow on the outter edges of the
'bruise'. The doctor examined her ribs and said there was no
damage to them. Of course not as I did not kick her. She says
she has a witness Lexie Gatt. She said that Lexie's mother
works for DHS, so there!!

I wonder if it was Lexie's idea to say "I kicked her."

I certainly will not be ever having her stay again, nor any
other child on a school night.

Good Bye Little Red Hatchback

Wednesday 23rd May, 2012. A sad day, the new Toyota Hatchback that
I bought in Oct, 1992, is gone.

Step said that the next service in 6 months would be major repairs.
Perhaps as much as $3,000. So Cliff got him to look around for a
car for me. Rob found a 2002 Kia Spectra for $2,500. With repairs
and reg it cost $3,500. It is insured for $4,00 as that was what AAMI
said it was worth.

Rob gave me $150, for my Toyota. She is being scrapped for parts.

An end of an era.

R.I.P. Jeffoire

Geoff Phillip was Cliff's cousin. He died on his 65th birthday
from Cancer. He was June's elder child and her only son. June
is Audrey's olest sister. Audrey is Cliff's mum.

I had never met Geoff, but attended a memorial for him at the
hotel where he permantely resided.

From the self indulgent film he made prior to his death and from
my listening to the conversations of those people who did know
him I concluded he was a lost man child.

He had fench words interspaced throughtout the film. I got the
impression he thought the French were arty and thus the 'frenching'
of his name from Geoff to Jeffoir.

An adult that lived his life for himself. A person who never
really knew who he was.

He pottered around in different jobs over his lifetime but
did not settle to one thing.

He helped with various bands, doing their lighting.

In the 70's he dressed and looked like John Lennon.

In the 90's he dressed and looked like Mick Jagger.

He left behind a few bits of furniture, some clothes and
books and a lovely daughter. Not really much for a lifetime.

Another Day Off.

Went to pick Kath up at 9 a.m. to drive her to the bus, only to
find Kirsten there. She claims she did not go to school, as
she had lost her excursion slip. As if she could not have got
another one. She never mentioned it to me either. So she
must not wanted to go. It was out to Monash uni. I have no
idea why, as there was no word of it in the latest news letter
either.

Will have to find a way, to get around Kirsten, to get information
directly from the school, so I know what is going on.

Hot Showers

There is only one thing better than a lovely hot shower and
that is a long soak in a bath. These days who has the time
for a bath?? It must be two years since I had a bath, but I
am given bath salts and bath essences nearly every mother's day!

Dean from Gas World rang about 11 a.m. Saturday 19th to say that
he had the part that he think will fix the heater. At 7 p.m. I
had a lovely shower and might have spent more time than I shoud
in it but what the hell I had not had one since Wednesday so I
figured it was about the same amount of water.

Will just have to wait and see if I have hot water Monday when I
get home from Cliff's on Monday.

Saturday Netball

Well it was a wet and miserable day. It did drizzle nearly
the whole time the girls were playing. Meg said that we were
late. My watch turned out to be a 'bit' slow as I had thought
it was 9.15 a.m. but it was 9.25 a.m. and the other girls had
arleady warmed up.

Play starts at 9.30 a.m. the other team only had two players
come so they forfeited. But there were a few 'spare' girls
so they made up a team to give 'The Devils' a play. The
odd bod team won 8 goals to 5. Remember they have never
played together before and 'The Devils' have been playing
for 4 weeks now.

But once Meg told them that they had already won, the energy
seemed to drain out of them and they did not make as much
effort to intercept as they had before being told they had won.

Driven to Drink.

The new water heater that was bought just before Easter,
continues to play up. Don jr has been around at least 8 times
to relight it for me and the plummer has relit it 6 times and
the handyman has done it once since I have had it, but the
worse thing is we have no hot water every second day, so we
are only showering when there is water and by the time Kirsten
and I shower there is no hot water for the dishes to be washed.
I tried using the kettle but it takes five loads of water from
the kettle and about 20 minutes to fill the sink that wasy!
because I can't use the dishwasher without hot water!

Finally the plummer rang the company that makes the unit and
they sent a serviceman around yesterday. He said the pressure
was a little 'high' but that was better than too low. (Low
pressure is one of the reasons the pliot light can go out.)
The pliot was low so he adjusted it a 'little' higher and
turned the thermostat a little higher as well as he said it
was on 2 and that can be a 'bit cool.' He also replaced a
part and said that should take care of it.

Kirsten had a lovely hot shower last night, but when I went to
have a shower this morning, after spending half an hour cleaning
water off the laundry floor where the new washing machine had
dumped it (the second time I have used it and the second time
the water has flooded over the floor. I don't have to wash it
as it is getting enough cleaning this way!) it was to find that
the water was cold!

Rang Rhett (the plummer) and he rang Dean (the repairman) who
said there was one more part he could try replacing but would
not have that part till tomorrow!

Both Rhett and I said 'what have we done to deserve this?' but
at least he is getting hot showers every day and I am NOT!

Pink Plate

About a month ago a new house on the corner of Crinigan Rd and
Bridle Rd had a car go too fast around the roundabout and it
ended up through the front windows of the house.

Nothing unusual about that, but about three hours later another
car run into their side fence and took out about four meters of
fence and drove away but their licence plate was seen.

My fiance, Cliff, said that the plate was pink and when the police
checked there was only one like in in the whole of Morwell, so
the police quickly picked up the person.

Well today at the shop he called me out the front to point out
the car with the pink plate. It does not have a pink plate at
all, but it does have a pink FRAME around the plate.

Water, Water Everywhere and Not a Drop to Drink.

Saw an article in the Herald Sun that the Catholic Church claims that
in Victoria there are 1.3 million single women aged between 24 and 34
and in the same group only 68,000 single men. That is about 19 women for
each man, great for the men looking for 'fun' not so good for the women
looking for marriage and children.

Then I read that in that group of men, one of the qualifying factors
was the man had to earn over $60,000 a year. I wonder if that ruled out
a lot of men, and there would be men in that age group who are divorced
and available to marry but as the church does not recoginise divorce I
wonder how many more men that ruled out. Still if that doubled the number
of men it still means ten women for each man. Perhaps these women will
have to find 'toy boys' like my two daughters!

What's Up?

This may look bigger but there is no line spacing and everything
runs toghether as if you are taking one breath and can't get it all
said before you run out of air!

AHHHH found the line sapacing under options! To me it is not an option!

Who wants to see long blocks of writing with no break? hard to see
worse to read.

'Keeping It...."

I have decided to write another blog.

I find that many of the things I write about are movies, T.V.
shows and books. So I will write a Blog "Keeping It Real"
that will deal with those matters and keep "Gloria's Day"
for the everyday angst.

'Missing"

Watched this and was reminded of the scene ouside the court
house at the end of the film "The Eraser." What you think
you see is not what actually happens.

Don, Meg and Kath agree with me that the father is still
alive and he is the one behind taking the boy.

Makes sense, he found out about the wife's affair, took
measures and when she chooses him it is too late, the plan
is already in action and he can't back out. He sends the
boy back into the hotel for the ball so that he can exit
the car which is then blown up. The body was already in
the trunk and is thus found in the wreckage when the bits
and pieces are reassembled.

This explains the photos of the boy over the ten years
since (not of the mother the ex spy), the father has
been keeping an eye on the boy. He was not kidnapped by
the usual gangs in Italy that target rich tourists as
they contact the parents with 24 hours and he was
missing a week with no contact. He was not taken to force
his mother to give up information otherwise once again she
would have been contacted immediately. If he was taken in
revenge he would be dead and his body displayed somewhere
for her to find.

But as Meg said "I hope this does not go on and on like
"Lost" did."

When will the producers get it right? Every show has a
'Use by Date' and when it's up it's up.

Some shows start off with one idea, like "Weeds" where
a middle class woman finds on her husband's death that
he had no insurance and she has no skills so resorts to
selling drugs to continue in her life stlye and to
support her two boys. Now there should have been a few
funny adventures and a few twists but she should have
married the policeman and returned to her 'normal' life
and lived happily ever after. Instead she becomes more
of an idiot as the show went on, gets more involved in
more drugs and starts dating a south American drug lord,
to whom she has a child, then runs away from him with
family in tow, with a male friend whom I thought played
role of town mayor. Her younger son (out of no where)
becomes an pscho killer and her older son wants to date
and get married! At which point I stopped watching!!

Don't even get me started about "Lost" it lost me after
the second season, when it too began to get 'way out there'.

Yet there have been shows that did the right thing, about
two years ago there was a show about a Hollywood producer's
wife who gets dumped and how most of her so called friends
also dump her, how she and her child cope, and how she
finnally makes it back into the inner circle bigger and
better than ever. Loved it! Took no more than a dozen
episodes to get the story told.

Last year the ABC did a show about how everyone stops dying
and what happens next, took about six episodes to reach a
thrilling climax. Short and sweet!

"Dancing With The Stars"

I don't watch this show but as it often goes over into the
next time slot I have seen the endings many times.

My comment is where are the stars?

Surely the title does not refer to an ex Carlton footy
player a minor singer only known in Australia and a
morning T.V. presenter? They are NOT famous perhaps well
known by some and as for the other dancers I have never
heard of them and wouldn't know them if I fell over them.

But I guess theat no-one would watch this rubbish if they
called it "Dancing With Mediocre Personalities."

"What's Your Number?"

A light funny romanic comedy that is not pretending to be anything else.

But when I saw one of the minor characters, 'Daisy Darling' played by
Ari Graynor I instantly thought it is Bette Midler, but then realised
that was impossable as Miss M is my age and this actress was in her
late 20's. So naturally I thought it must be her daughter.

I looked up the name on the web and it said that she was born in
April, 1983 (29) in Boston and was raised by a Jewish family. That
implies she was adopted.

Further enquires led me to a site called 'Cha Cha' where someone back in
January asked the same question. The answer was NO yhey are not related.

You can't tell me that this woman is not related, it was like two peas
in a pod. If you put a picture of the Divine Miss M at the same age,
up against a picture of Ari you would see what I mean.

Has anyone else seen this movie and thought the same thing?

"In Time"

Not even a new idea! this must be one of the worse movies as
far as errors goes.

"The Butterfly Effect"

Kirsten and I have been watching "Two and a Half Men" with
Aston K as a new charcter. I explained to Kirsten that he
used to be in a show called "That 70's Show" and he played
the same sort of charcter a boy-man who seems to be all fun
and games and even a little dim.

Then low and behold a couple of weeks ago I saw an ad on T.V.
for a screening of "The Butterfly Effect" so I recorded it
and watched it with Kirsten but I told her she had to be
perpared for a sad ending.

Well iminage my surprise when I see the ending which comprised
him telling his 'childhood little girfriend' when he first meets
her to fuck off,or he would kill her and her whole family. Then
skips ahead ten years to show them passing in the street, he of
cousre recognises her, as he often saw her as an adult, after he
passes he turns and looks at her then turna away and keeps
walking!!! THE END.

I watched it when it first came out on video, and the ending I
remember is he decides tha teveryone would have been better off
if he had never been born so he travels back into his mother's
womb and strangles himself with the birth cord! THE END.

So I looked it up on the web and there are 4 endings, 1.Theatrical
ending 2. Happy Ending. 3. Open End Ending. 4. Director's Ending.

I will have to ask Meg can I view the endings on her computer as
she has gig download than I have. As I'd like to know which are
the endings I have seen.

Friday 13th Strikes Again.

Went shopping with Kath at Coles, George St Morwell.
A young man named Nick served us. At the car I
noticed that Kath who had only spend $125 had received
a 12 cents petrol discount coupon whereas I who had
spent $170 had only received a 4 cent petrol discount
coupon so I went back to query it. The girl said
Kath used a master card to pay and I told the girl
we both used our fly buys with our triple points
coupons and I paid for both lots of groceries with
my credit card. So we couldn't figure out why the
difference, so she issued me with a 12 cent coupon.

When I was going through my purse on Saturday to
clean it up and put my cards in their proper places
I found that the triple Fly Buy coupon had been
handed back to me with my credit card and fly buy
card, so I reckon that the young man did not swipe
it and that was why I did not get the 12 cent coupon
and thus have also missed out on over 200 Fly Buy
points!!!

Just before Easter I walked into the laundry to find
water all over the laundry floor. I was washing but
the water was not coming from the machine but from
under the door where the hot water service is. Called
the plummer and he said that there was a split in the
service and it needed replacing. I got the service in
November 1993 18 1/2 years old. The plummer said that
they usually last 10-12 years so I did well.

It is illegal to have them indoors now so it had to
go out in the pergola area. The next day I went to
use it only to find the water was cold, it seems the
pliot light went out. Now he did say that could happen
as it is 'an energy saving unit' and the pliot light
is turnd down very low. But it continues to happen
every time we use the unit!!!

So the second thing to go wrong today, the hot water
service went out AGAIN!!!

Third thing the washing machine stopped washing!

Truly a wonderous day!!!

Donald Turns 38!

Whet around to Donald's house at about 7 p.m. to wish him
happy birthday on Friday 6th April, and it turned out that
he had gone to Lisa's family for tea as they were celebrating
Lisa's mum's birthday which was on Sunday 8th April.

There was no point in ringing him as he had left his mobile
phone at home on the mantle!

He complained NO ONE had rung him for his birthday, when
in actual fact he had quite a number of missed calls on the
phone! Typical male!!!

Fouth Anniversary

April 2nd was the fourth year since Don Snr died from
cardic failure, due to lung cancer.

The children had intended to go for a quiet drink to
celebrate their father's life, but Kath made the
mistake of reminding Nathan about the date, and
suddenly he can no longer mind the kids on that day,
but needs Kath to look after them.

Meg and Mick came up with a couple of drinks to
Donald's house, but they really couldn't talk about
what they wanted to with Kath's kids there.

Just another mark against Nathan.

April 1st, I Ain't Anyone's Fool.

Went off very quietly. No-one played any jokes on me
and I was the one who got in first with Kirsten and Cliff
with "a pinch and a puinch for the first of the month".

On-one came back at me with "a hit and kick for being so
quick."

St. Patrick's Day.

Kirsten was staying at her mother's and Cliff and I
planned on going to the Irish pub for a couple of
drinks to celebrate, but when it came down to it at
8.30 p.m. we were just too tired.

This is the first St. Patrick's Day that we have not
had a drink in 5 yeras and it was a Saturday night
too, which is a drinking night!

Of course it is also Andrew's birthday. He was 52
and we rang and wished him all the best and spoke
to Audrey.

Grant is coming down on the 13th April, to visit Audrey
and then coming on down here, he is going to bring Audrey
with him after he visits Mildura so we will see her too.

It is after Easter but before Mother's Day.

Kirsten wanted us to go up there for Easter but Cliff
says it is one of the best times he has in the shop.

Half Term Report

Kirsten got her half term report and she is doing
satisfactory in attitude and behaviour in 6 subjects,
good in 1 and excellent in 1. So very pleasing
overall.

However I was called into the school on Wed 14th over
an incident and it turns out she has been silly again
over things she has been writing on facebook.

So once more I have had to take it away from her.

I think I will wait till her birthday till she gets
it back. The teacher was saying if she could have
her way she would ban it completely. That it is the
number one cause of problems in the school.

I still believe that children should not be allowed
on it till they are at least 18! They are too
immature to be writing the rubbish they do and then
they have to suffer the results of they stupidity.

Meg and Mick's Engagement Party.

This was held on Sat the 3rd March. There were about
90 people there.

Meg said there on Mick's side there were 4 couples who
came and did not bring either a present or a card and 1
single male. On her side there were three people Jessica,
who loves getting presents but does not seem to think
she has to give a card or a present back, at nearly 19
she should now know that she is an adult and expected to
give cards and presents. Of course Sarah, (who still
owes me the $600 from the airplane fare from going to
see her grandfather when he died 4 years ago), did not
bring a present either and 1 single male.

In every relationship it seems that the keeper of what
should and should not be done in social circumstances,
is the female, so when single males do not do the right
thing by not bringing a card and present we tend to let
them off. But this is the first time I have EVER heard
of coulples coming to a do and not bringing presents.

Meg said that all up the party cost about $1,000 more
than what they got in presents.

She said the average gift was about $50, though a some
people like myself, Ida (Mick's mum), Uncle Bill, Debbie
and Tony gave an average of $100.

She also said the Mick and her needed to cull the wedding
list and they are both sick of freeloaders, so the people
who did not bring presents will not be invited to the
wedding as the reception will cost close to $70 a plate.

The general concenus is the a engagement present costs
between $50 and $100 and the wedding presnt double that.

Other than that and the fact the DJ did not have any modern
music, Meg enjoyed herself and Uncle Bill took lots of photos
of the family, though Meg was disappointed that he did not
get any of her and Mick's friends.

March Madness

I complained to the council about the balckberries growing
on the fence line between the shop and my house at Yallourn
North. The inspector came up and looked and agreed with me
that they are on the shop's side of the propewrty line and
thus their responsibility. The mamager did not realize that
the fence line had been altered.

Only trouble was that he also saw that the ppaddock was not
cut, but as I explained on the phone I had organised for it
to be done the week before but the bloke had to go to his
sister's as her husband died.

He gave me two weeks to get it done, and to get rid of all
the rubbish in the back yard and under the house as he said
that was a breeding ground for vermain. Only trouble is it
was 3 weeks on Monday 5th March and in that 22 days it has
rained for 19 days!!

The weather Bureau says that the rain will continue till
Wednesday but should be fine on Thursday and Friday but to
expect more rain on the week end, only trouble with that is

Memories

March 1st 1975 was a Saturday and the day I married
Donald Gladstone McDougall. It was also the day that
colour T.V. came to Australia.

The T.V. is still in colour and the marriage finished
in the early nineties.

In fact it will be 4 years since Don died on April 2nd.

Also March 2nd would have been Tracey's 49th Birthday,
it is now a year since her death from cancer and her
partner Darren has just been diagnosed with another
tumour.

Not happy memories, but memories still the same.

Hopefully Meg's engagemnet party to Mick on Saturday,
3rd March will add a happier highlight.

Leap Year

Leap Year always makes me think of two things. Firstly the
Olympics and the second all the poor unforunate people who
have a birthday on the 29th Feb.

To those people having a birthday on the 29th HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Very shortly we will be hearing about the big O and all the
excitment surrounding it. I hope there is no political back
lash this year as I always think that is contary to the O ideal.

Donald and Lisa

Well on Sunday 19th Feb My son Don finally asked his
girlfriend, Lisa, of two years to marry him.

He came in from sports walked over to the T.V. and
turned it off the channel she and Kath were watching
on to the football, saying "I'm not watching this crap."
His father did the same to me once and it made me so
furious, but the worse part was he had no idea that
he had done something wrong!

Anyway Donald went over to Lisa and knelt down by the
lounge and asked her for a kiss, and she said "Only on
the cheek" as she was cross with him. He then pulled out
the box, opened it and asked her to marry him.

For the next five mnutes she kept asking "Are you for
real, this isn't as joke is it, is it real are you
kidding me, over and over and then she cried and put
the ring on. Kath poked her head out from the kitchen
and said "You haven't given my brother an answer yet."

Lisa said "Yes."

That was about 8.30 p.m. He rang to tell me and I took
Kirsten around and we stayed till 10 p.m. getting all
the details as they continued to ring and tell family
the news. Kath put it on facebook and about twenty
congrats came in almost at once!

Donald then said "You can bring most of your stuff up,
this weekend." and Lisa said "Oh does that mean I moving
in ." Donald said "Of course we're engaged now."

Valintine's Day 2012

Cliff took me out to the Morwell Club for tea and then
we went to the Morwell Bowling Club to play the pokies
as he said that he has played every machine in the
Morwell Club and wanted to see if there were different
ones at the Bowling Club. There were.

I can now write that Donald had planned on asking Lisa
to marry him on Valintine's Day but there were still
no word on getting the coreect ring size. Then at 3 p.m.
on the day the girl from the shop rang and said they had
it in! I rang Don only to find that because they were
so broke that niether could afford to drive to see each
other, so he wasn't going to ask her after all. BUMMER!

Any way I had a lovely night as Kirsten stayed with Don
and Kath so it was just Cliff and myself! Cliff said that
we could have gone to a fancy restraunt in Traralgon but
I said why waste $100 on a meal, when we can get a
perfectly good meal for $22 at the club! that left
nearly $80 over for the pokies which we played till
nearly 8.20 p.m. as I had to get Kirsten to bed by 8.30
p.m. being a school night!

Euchre 2012

Euchre began on 9th Jan, but I was unable to go to the
first night and the next week my score was only 95. I
could not believe the lousy cards I was getting, all
the sevens and eights hardly a hand with anything over
ten.

Then on the 23rd things were not that much better, with
a score of 117. I was begginning to think that I would
not get up to my average from last year of 119.

On the 30th I could not seem to do anything wrong. I did
not get one lone hand but often the person I was partnering
did and I ended up with q score of 154 out of a possible
165, that is a average of 14 points a game out of 15!

That one great game, it is the best score I have ever had
took my average to 122! so I was really wraped!

The New School Year

Kirsten tried to prove a point yesterday by wearing
her old school uniform. That is she has NO clothes
that fit her to wear. Everything that does fit her
is in the wash.

I did a big wash and got her to hang out the clothes
as only one dress was mine and I bought them in as she
has gone to Nanny Leonie's for the night and won't be
back till 5 p.m. tomorrow.

She was looking forward to school starting. But some
how things have gone wrong already and some girl on
facebook is threating to beat her up. Kirsten says
this girl says that Kirsten ruined her relationship
with her boyfriend James and she will beat her up for
that. Kirtsen has not physically met any boy called
James so I don't know what this is about unless Kirsten
was talking to him on face book.

When did girls become so physically threating???and
since when did talking to anyone on a computer become
so bad?
