Christmas 2013

Kath did end up coming over with Kirsten for lunch. Meg
and Mick were the first here at 6 p.m. then Donald and Lisa
turned up. Kath had to make two trips with all the kids.
As Meg refused to go to Yallourn North to pick up the kids
but neither her nor Kath thought that Kath could have
ferried some of the kids to Meg's and then gone back to get
the rest! instead of driving all the way to Traralgon and
back!

It was a great day but they did not eat as much as I had
hoped. I was left with nearly all the adult triffle and
except for a small bowl that Kath ate from the child's
triffle, all of it.

As Kath was not expecting a present from anyone as she
knew Don, Meg and I had put in money to buy a new mower
as her Christmas and birthday present, nor was she
expecting any presents from the kids as Nathan used to
buy those.

So I bought a few small things for her so she would have
something.
Of course Kath went all emotional when Meg gave Kath a present and
said this is not just for now but for the future. Cliff
said "Probably a packet of condoms." Kath said "Don't
be silly." As it turned out, that was exactly what it
was. She had thought it was some sort of necklace like
a sister one. So for the rest of the day she was sour.

Christmas Eve

A quiet night we went to Sue and Allen's as usual. I
don't really like going because to tell the truth I have
absolutely nothing in common with any of the people there.

I only know Sue and Allen and they are talking to their
friends and children.

I sat in the T.V. room and watched the children's movie with
Sue's 11 year old granddaughter. A very nice child. She
reminded me of Talhia.

Little Things

Sitting on the loo and took THREE sheets of toilet paper and
thought that is too much I only need two sheets and an instant
memory came back to me of Aunty Josie, who said a person only
needed one sheet of toilet paper for a number one and two
separate sheets for a number two.

She was a generous person who would give you the shirt off
her back, yet her milk was always going off as she only ever
used a small amount in her tea and her bread was always stale
as you only needed one slice for a sandwich!

She was obviously trying to save money yet ended up wasting it!

Kirsten Plays Up

I had checked with the school and Kirsten seems to be missing
two days a week this term. So I rang Kath who said Kirsten is
refusing to go and Kath is not physically capable of dragging
her out of bed and putting her in the car and taking her.

So Kath and I agreed that Kirsten would come and stay with me
the rest of the term.

I went up on Sunday the 17th and was surprised to find that she
came quite willingly. Her mother said she had at first refused.

On the way back to Morwell she told me she was not feeling well.
I asked her is that why she only picked at her tea. She said yes.
I asked her if she was hungry and she said no, I said I was and
would she mind if I went to McDonalds and got something to eat.

She said it was OK. By the time we got back to my place it was
nearly a quarter past 8 p.m.

She asked me if I could give her $20 as she owed it to a girl at
school and mum had given her the money but she had left it. Silly
me instead of saying "I'll give it to you tomorrow morning before
school", I gave it to her then and there.

She said she was still sick and was going to lie down.

At 8.35 p.m. I went in to check on her and see if she wanted to come
and watch Bones with me only to find she and her bag were GONE!!!

I had left my phone at Cliff's so I had to drive to his place and get
it. I rang her mobile from Ciff's home phone but she did not answer.
I left the message "If you do not ring me within 5 minutes I will
ring the police."

She never rang back all night.

I rang Meg, Donald and Kath. No one had heard from her.

Kirsten had mentioned she had spent the entire weekend with friends.
When I told Kath that she was surprised as she was suppose to be at
Nan Leonine's. So I rang her but she did not know where these friends
were except they lived around the corner from Kinen.

Kath said she had picked Kirsten up from the house.

Kath also tried to ring her but there was no answer. Kirsten did text
her to say she was safe and not to worry and she would be at school on
Monday! I went down to the station and saw a young policewoman. Kara,
she was very nice but said that at 15 they could not 'drag' her home if
she did not want to go.

They did manger to get her to speak to them and confirm she was at the
friend's at Churchill.

She had teed it up with them before she left home to go to the Well St
shops and she would meet them there at 9 p.m.!!!That was why she was
not fighting with me about coming to my place!

Friday Spend Up

When I looked though the bag from Smiddgen I could have
kicked myself. I thought WHY didn't I buy more at the
cheap prices for the kids birthdays next year!

So I went back on Friday 15th and bought presents for
Sam and Talhia.

I also went into Kmart and bought some of the cosmetic
packs for the girls birthdays next year!

So now I have done all the Xmas presents for this year
except Elizabeth's dress which I still need to wrap!
and almost done all the birthday presents for next year!
Am I good or what???

A Good Day

When Kath was putting together the purple bookcase I also
asked her to put together the six tier stainless steel
bathroom unit.

She thought it was something like she could use to put the
baby things in and on. I told her I had bought it from
Sam's Warehouse in Traralgon.

I said we could go over and have a look.

So I drove everyone over. She found something. Of course
I had to pay for it! She said she would pay me back.

Kath said she also had to buy some nail polish for Talhia
for a school 'fun' day. But the Warehouse does not do
nail polish anymore. So we went to the Plaza. Kath
thought the Reject shop would have the cheapest polish.
So we went there. As we were passing Prouds we slowed
down to have a look in the window. Brooke saw a earring
and necklace set she liked. So I sent the others into
the Reject shop while I went into Prouds.

I bought the set for Brooke's 18th birthday.

It was half priced and then had another $29 taken off!
Also if you spent over $30 you could purchase a pair of
earrings and a pen for half priced. So I did.

Kath and the girls caught up to me. I showed Kath what I
bought as the girls walked on to Kmart. I told Kath I
wanted to have a look at Smiddgen. It is an Officeworks
for kids. They had an offer. Spent over $30 and buy any
number of half price items from a certain stand.

I never thought but I did spend $30 on two stencil books
and bought two half priced items, pencils and textras for
Connor, for his birthday in March.

I then went to Kmart and while waiting for Kath and the
girls, I browsed along the windows. There were a number
of boxed cosmetics. One of them was a packet of five
nail polishes for $5! So when she caught up to me I
asked how much she had paid at the Reject shop and she
said $15 for THREE! I then pointed out the ones in the
window. She was quite annoyed.

A Purple Day

On Thursday the 14th, Kath Kirsten and Brooke came
around to put together the purple 'bookcase' I bought
from Cheap as Chips.

It looks really good in my shoe room. I'm using it to
to put my handbags in.

I finally put the shelves back up in the right order
after the earthquake and put all the boxes back on them.

The shelves are also looking good. I need to paint them.

So when the weather is better and I have three or four
days in a row of heat I will get around to that.

I also need to cover more boxes for shoes and take the
pictures of all the new shoes.

I need to make lists of all the jobs as there are SOOOO
many!

Hi

Well will wonders never cease! Brooke came down from
Melbourne, on Tuesday 12th November. I think it
is the first time I have seen her since last Xmas.

So I went over to Morwell and picked her. She was
with Kirsten, Maddy and her NEW boyfriend Zanith.

I had the vouchers for Coles Mix and I took her and
them back to Traralgon to go shopping at the Coles Mix
store. She had $60 to spend which was her Xmas present
from last year and her present this year!

It took her about five minutes to choose as I had
given her a catalogue to see on the drive over and she
picked what she wanted. All she had to do when she got
to the shop was find those items!

Then it was back to Morwell as she wanted to go to her
father's place but she was STRAVING so first we went
to Subway in Commerical Road. Kirsten wanted to be
dropped at Poppy Cliff's shop. So I only had to pay
for Brooke and Maddy. Zanith had a Subway as well but
thankfully paid for his own. Both girls wanted a drink
so I bought them one and Maddy gave me the $5 it cost
for the drinks.

Gee Gees

Melbourne Cup at Cliff's house this year was on Tuesday,
5th November.

Donald, Lisa, Sam, Meg, Mick, Kath, Kirsten (and actually a
boy who was introduced as 'Kirsten's boyfriend') Lena, her
boyfriend and John all came for the BBQ and Cup races.

Bev and Tony had other arrangements. Sue and Allen didn't
come because he was on nightshift. Didn't hear from Richard
and his mum. Cliff said he does NOT have Gavin's phone
number, so we could not invite him. Elsie also had other
arrangements.

I had sweeps for all the races. This year I charged $1 a
race and $2 for the cup. Kath was a winner John broke even
as did Cliff. I think everyone else including myself were
losers.

I did not ask anyone to bring anything other than bread and
margarine. I think all the food cost about $100, this was
shared by Cliff. He did all the cooking of the meat and I
did the cocktail franks.

All the meat was eaten but more than half the salads were
left.

Later everyone said it was the BEST Melbourne Cup Day EVER!!!

Friday 1st Nov 2013

Went to the doctor to get the results of my mole biopsy.
They had changed colour and were larger and itchy, but
all was O.K. However because of the diabetics, the
wounds were not healing as well as they should. So the
doctor gave me a script for some ointment, which cost
about $13 a tube!!

It has to be put on three times a day. I'm lucky if
Cliff puts it on twice a day, morning and night as
he goes to bed hours before I do (about 8 p.m.) and gets
up two hours before me at 8.30 a.m. and both holes are a
little hard to reach for me as I do not have ape hands!

24th Oct

Because it was a 'short' month, the last Friday of the month
fell on Friday the 24th.

We all went to the Club as usual and we had some luck with
the raffle.

Kath won a mystery prize which turned out to be a black
label Johhny Walker scotch( usually about $50!)

John won a $40 Manny Market voucher.

Cliff won a $30 bistro voucher.

Then John won the big prize of the night the $500 Coles/
Myer Gift card.

I actually bought tickets myself this month so the only
people on the table to miss out were Lena, her boyfriend
Glenn (whom she bought for the first time) and myself!

Halloween Disappointment

On Wednesday the 30th Cliff decided to do some gardening
and asked if Sam would come around and help. So I went4
around to Karen's and brought him back.

They pulled weeds turned soil and planted new plants for
summer eating. Sam seemed to enjoy the work. Cliff gave
him $10.

When we got back to Karen's I said that Cliff would like
him to come on Thursday. He gave half his money to Maddy
as he had stolen $20 from her.

But when I went around on Thursday he said he was going to
a friend's place as they were going out Trick or Treating.

Friday Karen wanted me to keep him after he did the garden
but as Brooke and Kirsten were suppose to come and stay at
Cliff's I said No.

But as it turned out neither of the girls came but by the
time we got back to Traralgon it was nearly 6 p.m. so when
I got to Karen's they are already gone to tea and Maddy
was there alone minding Elizabeth as Sam was at a friend's.

I like the fact that Sam has friend's, as Donald didn't seem
to have as many friends at the same age.

Jack Russells

I don't know if I have said this before but Cliff has three
Jack Russell dogs. Ariel which official belongs to Ross.
She is about five years old. Two years ago she had her first
litter, which consisted of Sophia, who is almost the same
size and colouring as her mother. I tell them apart from
the fact that Sophie has three circles of brown on her rump
and Ariel only has one. The runt of the litter was Jess.
She is black and white and I wanted to call her Collingwood.
But for some reason (maybe because both Cliff and Ross are
Carlton supporters this was ruled out.) Yet I don't see
why it is always Ross who gets to name the dogs!

Ross has encouraged them to not only sleep on his bed but
to actually crawl INTO the bed and sleep next to him.

When he gets up and goes to work at 6 a.m. the dogs are then
lonely and crawl into Cliff's bed with us. I try to fetch
them OUT of the bed and toss them at the foot of the bed.
If I had my way there would be NO dogs in the house AT ALL!
I believe in animals STAYING outside.

Well about the 16th of this month.

Kirsten's Melbourne Trip Revisited.

Kirsten rang me on Wednesday 16th Oct to say she was having
a wonderful time in Melbourne. (I was not a big enough person,
I enjoyed saying 'I told you so.')

She also asked me to send her some more money as she was down
to her last $30. She went to the Melbourne Zoo and said there
was a stuffed tiger, with large eyes. It looked at her and
said 'Buy Me!' So she did.

So I sent her $100 and told her it had to last till Friday.

There would be NO more!

She also said that she rang 'Mummy' and told her what a great
time she was having and even sent her a photo of the Eureka
Tower Deck, where they were on Wednesday night.

Happy Birthday!

Audrey (Cliff's mum) is 84 years young today. That meant it was
just before her 23rd birthday when she had Cliff. In fact for
a country girl at the time that was OLD to have a first child
most country girls were married by twenty and had two kids by
twenty three.

Cliff did ring Aud for her birthday, during a lull at the shop.
As Lena and I were there we also got to say happy birthday. I
asked her if she was 84 years young and she said 84 but these
days not feeling all that young.

Kath did not get to say hello as she had gone to the dentist with
Kirsten. I asked Kirsten did she want me to go and she said no
as she had mummy and her teddy bear. It turned out it was NOT a
teddy bear but a tiger. It was the one she had bought on the
school trip at the zoo, for $30.

Of course as Ross is up there visiting her he did not ring!

Kirsten's Melbourne Trip.

Kirsten went to Melbourne on Monday 14th October. Later
that night her mother received a phone call from one of
the teacher's saying :Kirsten had been 'crying' all day
and wanted to go home so they were bringing her back and
she would be at the Morwell station at about 8:30 p.m.

I rang Kirsten and told her to stop acting like a 2 year
old having temper tantrum, and to stay in Melbourne. I
said if she came home her mother was going to pack her
bags and she would be sent back to live at my house.
She just replied "She didn't care."

Meg spoke to her about lunch time when Kirsten rang her
to say she wanted to come home and could Meg come and
get her. Meg told her "To stop acting like a 2 year
old having a temper tantrum and grow up, and she would
not be coming to get her as she was at a conference in
Melbourne till Wednesday. She was coming back later
that day and then Mick and her were leaving for Sydney
on Thursday morning to see some Car Rally.

Her mother also told her to stay in Melbourne and not
be a 2 year old having a temper tantrum just because
she could not get her own way.

Noting seemed to make a dent. The teacher bought her
back and despite the fact I said no one was coming to
pick her up, Kath relented and did pick her up.

However Kath said it gave her an opportunity to speak
to her on the way home.

What ever Kath said to her must have worked as Kirsten
said she would go back next morning on the 8.30 a.m.
train. She did!!!

Missed Appointment

For the second time ever, and the second time this year
I missed a Dr's appointment. I went to the chemist and
he said the script I have for my atorvastatin tablets
was low. I said that was OK as I had a Dr's appointment
... I then realized it had been at 10 a.m. that morning!

School Holidays

Kirsten came to stay with me in the first week of the
holidays as Kath had the other kids despite her 'little
turn.'

The hairdresser did another treatment for the nits on
Tuesday and Kirsten finally went in to the hairdressers,
on Friday 4th October, to have the two tone colouring
done to her hair. She and Kath thought it was great.
I did not think it was.

Kath and I both went with her, me to pay and she wanted
Kath for morale support. It turns out this was actually
her first time at the hairdressers ever.

Her mum has always cut and coloured her hair!

Brickbats to Safeway and Target

On Wednesday 2nd October, 2013, I went into Safeway to
buy one of the albums to put theanimal cards in, which
Sam is collecting. It turns out Safeway has sold out
nation wide.

One of the guys from cards said he is in the know and
most of them were withdrawn because there was a swear
word in them and there were a number of complaints.

The girl in the Morwell shop said opportuntists bought
out all the books and were putting them on ebay for $50
each. What a rip off when they were $5 each or two for
$8.

Again I went into Target to get the notepad and
aseccesies only to fine the assessories had still not
come in, but thankfully the notepads had. So I got one
for Kirsten and myself.

This meant the notepad I had was finally given to Cliff
as it was his from his birthday last year.

Colli's Hairdresser

I finally used the voucher at Colli's hairdresser which
Meg gave me for my birthday. I wanted to have a dye job
so I would look good for Cliff's birthday at the Club.
However though Kirsten and Kath thought it looked good
I thought it looked brassy! The cut appears a little
uneven to me, the hairdresser did it really quickly
just a snip, snip here and there. I like the length.

I went on Wednesday 25th Sep. as I wanted to have lunch
with Janette afterwards. But when I rang her on her home
phone it was disconnected.

After the hairdresser which did take about three hours,
I went to Janette's.

I had Kirsten for a couple of days as it was her holidays.
So she was with me. I gave her a choice, she could come
with me or stay with Cliff. She said she'd come with me.

She was on her phone most of the time but even so after
that length of time she was getting a little impatient.

She wanted the hairdresser to do her hair in a two tone.
She had a picture. I did not like it. But it is up to
her and it is a mistake that she will have to live with
it, and sometimes the only way to get through to her is
to let her go for it.

He could not do it then as she had NITS again. He gave
her a treatment. He said if she came back on Tuesday
he would treat it again. Then he would do the dye job
on Friday.

Janette's was not home. I thought she could be overseas
on holiday so I left a note for her to ring me.

We then went to Kath's. Kath gave me the Coles/Myer
card which had $157.35 on it and she wanted me to buy
Kirsten a Thomson tablet as she needs one for next
year and they were on special for $169. Kirsten also
wanted the matching keyboard for $25.

So next we went to Target but the only colours they
received was blue and pink. No black or white and
they got no 10 inch accessories. The girl said to
come in next Wednesday, as they expected more to
come in next Tuesday.

So it was a busy if not exactly a productive day.

Scentsy

Sarah invited me to a Scentsy party. I had thought from the name this
was a perfume mob. Turned out they are a CANDLE mob.

After working at PartyLite for nearly two years I have enough candles
to last a life time.

There were about ten guests. There were two demonstrators, who said
they were the first agents in Gippsland for the company.

They played an introduction game to 'get us warmed up.'

We had to say what thing we have never done. For each time we said
something that someone else has done we received a 5 cent piece from
that person. The winner was the person who had the most coins at the
end of the game.

We each had two turns. On the first turn I said I have never driven
across the Nullabor plain, but it turns out only two other guests had
done that included the girl visiting from America.

On the second guess I said "I have never eaten Yoghurt." This was a
better statement as I received 9 coins.

As for the girl from America, I placed her age at about 35. She said
she was visiting her fiancé whom she met on the internet. Later on
she said she was 21. I did a double take and thought who was she
kidding! During the introductions she said she could remember hiding
under the front verandah when she was about three back in 1975. This
means her actual age is 41! She said her fiancé was 5 years older than
her when she claimed to be 21! meaning he was 26! I wondered how long
she was going to keep up the pretense as she would be bound to slip up
again!

Kath did not order anything. I only ordered two stuffed toys one for
Dyne and the other for Kirsten who wanted one for her Xmas present.
You put Scentsy block incense into them and they cover the bad smells
in the room. Especially good for Dyne who is still in nappies. Sort
of like a camphor block.

The only candles they have are ones to be burnt in an electric melt
warmer. I have enough of those as stated earlier.

A Big Night Out!

As usual we went to The Morwell club for the raffle on the last Friday
of the month (27th). But as it is Cliff's birthday on Oct 1st I had
invited all the family to come and celebrate with us.

Meg even went so far as to order a meal.

We were having a good night and even Kath's kids were not too bad.

We all bought tickets in the raffle and this time it was Kath's turn
to win, in fact she walked off with the second last prize of the
night the $500 gift card from Coles/myer Boy did that make her
night! The first thing she said she was going to do was go to
Coles and do a big supermarket shop because as usual Nathan left
her no money for food for the kids.

We Visit Kathleen

On Sunday after Kath's "turn", when Cliff finished at
the market, he dropped into my house and brought me
some flowers. He said that he had already gone to
Meg's but that no-one was home so he had left some
flowers for Kath on the front door step.

I rang Meg and she said that Mick and she were at
lunch at the pub. I asked if Kath was with them
and she said Kath had gone home that morning.

So I rang Kath and she said she was at home and it
was just her and Kirsten. I was going home with
Cliff and once more he surprised me by asking did
I want to go up and see Kath and I said that would
be lovely. He also suggested we get Kentucky for
her to save her cooking. So as we were passing Meg's
we picked up the flowers.

When we got to Yallourn Nth it was to find Nathan and
ALL the kids there. Not a good idea as she was told
to rest and take it easy and looking after 5 children
and having to cope with Nathan was not exactly taking
it easy!!!!

Luckily the chicken was enough for every one as Cliff
had got the larger size saying Kath could have the left
overs for tea to give her a break. THRER WERE NO LEFT
OVERS!!

We ate and then had a talk to the kids could not really
talk to Kath with Nathan there.

So after about an hour we left.

Kathleen's Little Break

I have never really understood Kathleen. Donald keeps his
own council and gets rid of his anger and frustration through
sport. Meg has always been able to talk about her problems
and any left over frustration is channeled into her netball.
But Kathleen is a closed book. She turns everything in upon
herself. She does not talk about her problems and has no
outlet for any anger of frustration.

So it was hardly surprising when Donald rang me on Friday
20th Sept. to say she was in hospital. Have still not been
able to piece together the whole story. It seems she went
to Cliff's shop and told him she need to "get away" to have
some piece and quiet as she was being driven "MAD."

Sometime after she got home and Nathan had dropped of the
kids, she started to play with the boys. She had bought
a number of cars and a helicopter from Cliff's shop and was
playing with these. Dayne did not want to play and she said
her father was coming to get her soon. She then messaged
Nathan something along the lines of daddy come and get me.
He thought it was Thalia and rang her. She said it was not
her but Mum and mum was acting strange. Nathan then came
up and didn't like the way Kath was acting so rang an
ambulance. He then rang Donald. Donald and Lisa went to
the hospital.

He rang me then hung up. I rang back and he said it was a
mistake. I talked to him about his grand final which was the
next day and he said it was at Traralgon so I said I would not
be driving over there.

About three minutes later Meg send a message to say ring Donald.
I rang her and said that I had just spoken to him. She was
cagey and said I needed to ring Donald again. So I did. It
turns out that both of them talked about the situation and Donald
thought I would go off half cocked! (does the boy not know me at
all!! I have ALWAYS been the calm one. I have had so much shit
happen in my life that nothing much fazes me anymore. Don't they
remember I was a psychiatric nurse at one stage in my life???

Anyhow, Donald said that after about half an hour of his and Lisa
arriving and talking to Kathleen she seemed to "snap' out of it.
So as he had to get up early the next day he and Lisa left about
midnight and then Meg who had gone out to dinner with Mick and
Lisa went back to the hospital and stayed to 3 a.m. when they let
Meg take her home to Meg's house where she stayed for 24 hours.

Just Had to Have a Giggle..

Received an email today saying I had over 20 followers of this blog. That
is rubbish. I have not had a comment in years! Even the one follower I
have does not make a comment. He reads it to help with his English.

After all it is not world shattering news. I don't give receipes, or write
about famous people and their lives. It is just about my every day life.
I leave out the really boring bits and give only the highlights.

Even they are boring in as much as they can happen to anyone!

Sunday With Meg

It was the 15th Sept when Cliff picked me up and we drove to Mid
Valley as he said he would buy me lunch. But on the way he went
passed Meg's street and I said that I had hoped he would drive
past as I wanted to see ifshe was home.

So he went back and both her and Mick's car were in the driveway.
Cliff asked if I wanted to stop in and I said no as Meg had said
this was the only day she got to see mick.

So we just went on to Mid Valley and we ate at Subway.

We split up and I went to Target to pay my credit card and he had
a wander around.

I then went into Safeway and di a quick shop in the bakery section.
I bought lots of donuts that were reduced.

I then met up with Cliff and as we were leaving the car park he said.
"I know you want to go to Meg's to have a cuppa and eat some of those
donuts." To be perfectly honest the thought never entered my head but
once he said that I thought what a great idea. So I agreed and he
laughed and said how great he was at reading me and he just knew
that as soon as he got out of Mid Valley I would have tried to coax
him into going.

Went we got to Meg and Mick's I saw another car there so I thought as
they already have visitors then it did not matter if we stopped in.

It turned out that it was Clint McDougall (Mick's best man, though
no relation to us.) his wife and two kids. Their older daughter
had just turned 4 on the same day as Elizabeth (Karen {My son's ex}
and Chris's daughter) turned 3! Her name is Indi (I don't know if
that is the correct spelling.)

Meg said that we should not have stopped in as the McDougalls had
come up from Melbourne to visit and they so rarely saw them that
they were missing quality time with them! So much foe a loving
daughter who was grateful foe donuts, which not even the kids ate!

A "Little" Visitor.

After euchre on Monday 16th Sept (where I came last with 105!!)
Cliff and I went to the car. It has been very windy this winter.
In fact it is the windiest winter I have ever experienced here
in the valley since coming here in 1974!!

Any way as I was getting into the car I felt a leaf drop onto my
hair.

So as I sat down in the car I brushed it off.

But when I did so I felt a BODY and knew instantly it was a spider!
I screamed with the shock. (First time ever when dealing with a
spider.) It was just the unexpectedness of it.

But the spider ended up on my shoulder looking at me eye to eye.

So I yelled at Cliff to get it of! It was as large as my fist.

He paniced as well and brushed it off onto the dashboard in front
of me.

I'm screaming "Get it out, get it out." So then he did the smart
thing and came around to my door which was opened and brushed it
out of the car.

Before I closed the door I made sure it was NOT in the car and
just wanted to get away as quick as possible!

My heart was beating a mile a minute but thankfully I did not have
another heart event!

Mick and Meg.

Went to our usual lunch date with Meg, on Wednesday 11th Sept.
Rang her to ask if she would go to Morwell Subway as I wanted
to take advantage of the$5 meal deal and she sad OK.

I turned up and MICK was there.

Now it is not that I dislike my new son in law but to be honest
these lunches are the only time I get to spend ANY time with my
daughter on a one to one basis! So I was put out.

Turns out that he started working night shift at the APM, on
Tuesday night. He has got this gig for ten weeks and when
he goes to work at 4 p.m. Meg is still at work and when he
comes home at 1 a.m. she is sound asleep in bed. When she
gets up at 8 a.m. he is sound asleep. So when she has lunch
at 1 p.m. it is the only time he gets to see her and vice
versa, except Sunday which is his ONE day off per week.

So I am going to her place to visit at night but AFTER
the X factor or some stupid show like that.

So I can see her for TWO hours instead of ONE, but not till
after the end of the month as she has some work assignment
(to get her next promotion) to finish by Friday 27th.

Too Busy

August was a really bad month. I just did not seem to have a moment
to do my blog! Yet I am unemployed just imagine what it would have
been like if I had a full time job.

It was Tuesday 13th when I went to Video Ezy and got two DVDs for
Cliff and I to watch. I put one on that night and was fast for-
warding the previews to get to the main show. I said that there
was a preview on pitch perfect and I could show him Rebel Wilson.
He started to moan "Stop rewinding, just play the film "stop
rewinding" "stop rewinding" and he kept on and on, and I had the
film paused at the beginning of the film!!!!! So I just yelled at
him, stop whining I want to watch the movie and I want to HEAR it
I don't want to hear you moaning. So shut the f..k up!

Well Ross who had gone out drinking as he had the day off and
even forgotten that he was suppose to be here practicing with
the rest of the band members. He rushed into the lounge room
and SCREAMED at me to stop talking to his dad like that. It was
HISdad who paid the bills and I was the bloody fat whore who was
sponging off him.

Considering I PAID for every meal I ate at the house. I don't
think I was sponging as much as Ross whose 'board' doesn't cover
the grog, gas, water or electricity that is used in the house, so
he really shouldn't throw stones. Anyway I lost my cool with him
and threw the remote control at him, and he threw it back at me
so hard that for two weeks I had a large bruise about four inches
in diameter on my left leg.

Anyway Cliff turns and says "stop it you two." WELLLL that was it.
I had wanted him to say something along the lines of "Ross, please
don't speak to Gloria that way." but no not a word. So I just got
up and said "That's it I've had enough." I packed up the car till
it was full and went home.

Another Fight With Mum

Kirsten wanted me to come and pick her up AGAIN, as she
and mum had another fight.

I spoke to Kath and she said that she was sick of Kirsten.

So I did go and pick her up and she spent the weekend with
me at Cliff's. She really is not much of a problem as she
spends all her time on her phone writing on Facebook.

An Expensive Night

I was coming from Yallourn North after dropping of Kirsten
and it was about 6:50 p.m. and I was going up the road near
where the old race track was and I was stuck behind a car
doing 80 kms in the 100 zone.

There is nothing so frustrating, especially on a single
laned road. So I put my foot down and overtook it. I
mean I did hit 120kms. But it was a clear road, Monday
night and early in the evening. But of course there WAS
a police car lying in wait! It will cost me nearly $290
for overtaking that stupid slow car. If he had of being
doing the limit I would have been perfectly happy to stay
behind him.

Of course I ended up being late for the cards at the club
anyway.

The Combined Birthday Party

The idea was to combined all the family birthdays for July and August
thus saving everyone the need to go to individual parties, which gets
to be a pain after awhile.

So the cake had all our names on it, Gloria, Ross, Kirsten, Connor,
Keith and Talhia.

Well as I have already said Ross who is 34 HAD to have a night out
with meal for his birthday. Kirsten wanted Cliff and myself to drive
up to Yallourn Nth to see her on her birthday and say "Happy Birthday."
Yet Kath and Kirsten were at the shop when I was at the Health Center
and couldn't wait just ten minutes to see me AND IT WAS HER BIRTHAY so
why should we be put out!!! and take nearly two hours out of our day
and travel nearly 30kms to see her!!!

As it turned out Talhia had a dance at school and it was her first
disco dance so she refused to come to the party as she wanted to go to
the dance.

Then Donald also bought a cake for Connor's birthday and asked us to
come around after the club for a slice of cake and it had cost me $48
for the 14 X 14 inch cake for all of us!

Other than that all went well. Donald won a $50 voucher on Safeway,
John won a $30 voucher on Manny's Market, Ross won a meat5 tray and
Cliff won a $40 voucher on The Deli in Church St. Kath, Meg and Mick
and Lena missed out. It has been4 months since Lena won, 3 months
since Kath won and 2 months since Meg won.

So all up not a bad night. Kirsten was to come back with us but ended
up going to a friend's house.

I See The Diabetics Nurse

Finally got in to see the nurse. The woman at the counter charged
me $(.80. I said I thought it was free and she said even on a
health card or pension card it was $9.30. So I paid but I wondered
what the voucher from Melbourne was. As Dr. Rose told me that it
entitled me to TWO free sessions with the nurse!

So I got in to see her and was there about 45 minutes and we barely
got started I felt I did not know much more that when I first went
in. She was very nice and I was given the free testing kit and
she told me how to use it. I have another appointment with her
in a month.

When I went to use the kit the next day I couldn't figure out to
use the "lancing device" the instructions were USELESS! all they
said was "prime the device" but did not show how to do this. I
ended up going down to the chemist and getting them to show me.

Have been testing myself morning before breakfast and 2 hours
after my main meal. The highest I have hit is 9.6 (not suppose to
be over 7) and that was after a Healthy Choice Dinner! The nurse
did mention that I should go back to the Dr. and get her to look
at the results to see if I needed tablets to help me regulate my
insulin. She just did not say when as the Dr was saying that she
hoped I would be able to achieve this by diet alone and I don't
have an appointment with the dietitian till about the 10th August.

Ross Gets Special Treatment

Despite the fact that Cliff knows "we" (that is my family
and him and his two sons) are going to the Club on Friday
26th to celebrate all the family birthdays in July and
August. Ross still wanted to celebrate his birthday on
the 19th!

So Cliff took us to the RSL in Traralgon and we had tea
there.

Ross said it had years since we had been there and I
pointed out it was in fact on his birthday last year
that we had gone there!

Bastille Day

July 14th is the day the French stormed the Bastille prison as
a sign of independence against the royal rule.

I did nothing unusual today!!!

We never hear about this, why is that?

American Indepenance Day

This makes me think of the movie with Will Smith. A movie that I really
enjoyed. But I wonder how many Australians know what the day is really
about. That there was a war fought between the British who 'owned' the
colony and the people of the colony who wanted to rule themselves and be
independent from the British Empire. Needless to say the Americans won
and that is why there is an USA today.

Sam Throws A Wobblie

After we had the party at the club for Meg's birthday she said
that we could come back to her place for birthday cake.

However I could not as that was also the day that Karen Richardson
buried her brother Henry.

She had asked if I would come and pick up Sam as the pub does not
like kids under 13 being there after 9 p.m.as they were having
the wake at the Royal Exchange.

So I said to Meg to save me apiece of cake, WHICH SHE DID NOT.

I dropped Cliff off at his house and went to the pub. As so as
Sam saw me he said he did not want to go. Chris tried to coax
him by giving him money for the football machine and although
he took the money HE STILL REFUSED TO GO.

We all went outside but he said that he wanted to stay. He was
really working himself up. Eventually Karen said that it did
not matter, she would go home with him instead if I would be kind
enough to drive them, but HE STILL REFUSED TO GO. At that stage
I would have given him a swift kick up the butt if he had of been
my child.

But no Chris and Karen explained to him about the time and hotel
policy and HE STILL REFUSED TO GO. Chris went to take his arm and
put him in the car and he ran off around the corner down the street
near the ANZ bank. Karen and Chris ran after him.

My New Doctor.

At first I thought it was great having a female doctor
but now I'm having doubts. Every time I mention some
thing that is bothering me, she doesn't do anything
about it at the time but makes another appointment
for me for a further two weeks away. So that I have
been going to see her every fortnight for nearly five
months. Which is the most I have seen a doctor in years.

Of course every time I go she gets more money from the
government but I hope that is not what she is doing.

I am just sick of going as I have to wait nearly an hour
every time and though I read or do crossword puzzles
it is still becoming annoying.

I can't see why she can't do it all in the one session!!!

Another Great Friday

Cliff is a mad Carlton supporter. Thus I have spent the last two
Fridays forced to watch the team play, first Essendon and then
Hawthorn.

I must admit I know very little about the aerial ping pong as my
dad called it, but even I saw the things that Cliff was SCREAMING
about. Players that were tackled unfairly and yet the ball was given
to the other team. Goals that were kicked and not given. His players
punched and the other team getting a free kick for it. Perhaps he is
not so crazy after all, as I thought it really does look as if the
umpires are favouring the other teams when Carlton play.

Both times his team lost by a few points and I believe that they
should be given both matches due to the unfair umpiring.

Meg's Birthday 2013

Much to Meg's annoyance it was the last Friday of the month.
This means that Cliff, Kathy, John, Lena and myself go to the
club for the raffle.

We did not want to give up going so I said we could all have
tea there for her birthday. She reckons that the food is crap.
Which is strange as everyone else that goes, including Donald
think the food is quite good and at a reasonable price.

Well Mick bought $10 worth of tickets and lo and behold won a
$40 deli voucher. Turns out that that shop also sell the
beans Meg uses in her coffee machine and was having a special
that week, two packets for the price of one, $29.95 so she
still had $10 over for cold meats! and enough coffee for nearly
3 months! So she was really pleased.

Donald gave her $50 as did I and Kath gave her $30 so she ended
up with $130 and there was a pair of shoes she said she saw in
Viva for $150, so now she only has to pay $20 for them. I don't
know what Mick got her, will have to ask. Also I don't know if
his family bought her anything either now that they are married
it is different and I would expect that they have got her something
will ask next time I see her.

She did say that uncle Bill DID NOT send a birthday card even though
I have given him the birthday book last time he was down here.
(For her wedding in March.)

Racism

According to the Compact Oxford English Dictionary
racism is defined as -
1. The belief that a race has certain qualities or
abilities, giving rise to the view that some races
are better than others.
2. Discrimination against or hostility towards other
race/s.

I guess the worse case of this was the Nazi belief
that the German race was better than the Jews.

Since moving to the Latrobe Valley in 1974, I have
seen or heard of a few cases of discrimination/racism.

The first was about 1974-1980 when a number of
aboriginals (defined as a native of a country prior to
the arrival of colonists) would gather in a park in
Commerical Road, every second Friday and drink
alcohol from brown paper bags. They would be there
from 10 a.m. to nearly 4 p.m. and were quite drunk,
loud and abusive to passer-bys. I was amazed and
asked why the police were not called to have them
removed and was told, "They are aboriginals." So
I said, and was told "The police would be accused
of racism." I sai9d that was bull s..t as the men
were drunk and abusive in public and as such were
breaking the law. The reply was "Yes if they were
white, their arses would be put in jail."

The second was in the 1980's when another driver's
wife, (My husband was a bus driver for the local
bus line.) that she was paid money to send her
children to school. I wasn't paid to send my kids to
school when I asked her how I could get onto this wicket
she said it was only for children of aboriginal descent.
She also told me that her aboriginal husband took that
money and used it to get drunk every weekend and then
he beat her up. (My white husband took money out of his
pay every weekend and got drunk and beat me up so I know
where she was coming from on that issue, but it was the
money paid to sent her kids to school, I NEVER GOT THAT!!!

The third was in 1997 when my fiancé's son Ross was
being bullied at school. He was white and the bully
was an aboriginal boy. This 'coloured' boy HIT Ross.
nothing was done even though Ross told the teacher
about it and 'witnesses' supported Ross's story. This
other boy was not even suspended. My fiancé told his
son "If he hits you again knock him down!" A couple
of days later that is what happened. Ross was suspended
for a week but the boy who started the fight WAS NOT.
When I asked about this. I was told "We can suspend
him, he's an aboriginal and we would be called racist."

In the early 2000 to about 2005, the local shops were
plagued by gangs of aboriginal boys aged about 13-15.
They would come in and annoy the customers and owners
and run off with what they could get their hands on.
When complaints were made to the police we were told
"Oh yes we know who they are, they are all under age
and live with an adult in (Name of street)." When
asked what was going to happen about it we were told
"NOTHING, there's no point."

In 2005 one of these gangs came to our shop and my
fiancé told them to get out and only come back in groups
of no more than TWO and only if they had MONEY. As
they left one of them screamed out "Racist bastard."

The sixth example was in the local paper. Now my
fiancé is in a housing co-op and if they advertised for
a receptionist and put in the ad "Whites need only to apply."
It would be described as blatant discrimination and racist.
Yet the local Aboriginal co-op put an ad in the local paper
and put in "Aboriginals need only to apply."

The latest example might not be racist. Earlier this year
my granddaughter and her fiancé wanted to sell their house
to buy a bigger one. They looked at similar houses to theirs
in town, that were up for sale. So they had a price to work
with, they then checked out the banks to see if they could get
a loan for the difference between what they expected and what
the new house was going to cost. It just fitted their budget.
So then they called in three of the local real estate agents.
This is what each one told them. "You'll never get that for
this house, expect at least $30,000 to $50,000 less." They
were shocked and asked WHY??? Because their house's back yard,
back's onto (the street I mentioned in fourth example). This
street is known for the number of drunken brawls that occur
ONCE a fortnight, which includes quarrels and stabbings. Then
when it is quiet there are loud shouting matches nearly every
night with loud blaring music.

So now they are stuck as no-one has made an offer on the house
(not even at $20,000) less than what they wanted.) Any less
than that and they could not get the new house as they could
not afford any extra on the housing loan, as the repayments
would be too much for them.

So in each case the discrimination I have seen or heard about
has been against white people. Never once have I seen or heard
any racism being directed at 'coloured' people.

Adam Goodes

I will start off by saying that I am neither a bigot nor
racist.

I did not see the game on Saturday, so I do not what
behaviour Adam Goodes indulged in to be called an ape.

I see nothing offense in the term as far as racism goes.

Charles Darwin in his study of the origin of man, said
that we are all descendants from the apes. From the
behavior I have seen displayed by some adult 'humans'
some of us are a lot closer to those descendants that
perhaps society would like.

I saw some of that behavior displayed by Mr. Goodes
when the TV stations replayed the footage from the
game.

What I saw was an adult male who appeared to be screaming
at some spectators in the stands. He was shaking his head
and pointing his finger. He appeared very anger.

I have seen the same behavior from adult alpha male apes,
at the zoo. This occurs when they do not get their way.

What I saw was an adult bullying a child!!

Not only that but the security guards did actually
remove said child, much to my disgust. I was also
disgusted that the spectators around the girl did not
protest the security guards actions.

I later learned that this 13 year old was held at the
police station and question for a number of hours.

If this had been a 'coloured' child and the person she
yelled at was 'white' adult, none of this would have
happened.

White people have tried to appease 'coloured' people
for the wrongs of the past for so long, that they have
now made door mats of themselves. It is about time they
stood up for themselves.

To make matters worse Mr. Goodes went on TV the next
day and instead of saying
"I am sorry for my actions last night, I got angry and
over reacted, I am a man and as such know that 'sticks
and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt
me.' I hope the child was not traumatized by my actions
and those of the security guards."
Instead he tried to justify his behavior by blaming the
child, he claimed to be 'hurt' by the remark, (For god
sake GROW A PAIR!!!)and to exacerbate the situation he
then vilifiedthe child's parents by saying their were not
raising their child the right way!

If I was this child's parents I would be seeing a lawyer
with the intention of suing this man for slander.

As for what racism really is I will write about next time,
and as for this storm in a teacup, as Forest Grump said
"That is all I have to say about that."

"Driving Miss Daisy"

Saturday 27th April saw Meg, Kath and myself driving to
Melbourne.

It was a big surprise and was Meg's Mother's Day present
and my birthday present combined, as she paid everything
for me.

We went to one of the shopping centers as Meg wanted to
return a jumper she bought that had a snag on it.

She drove around for nearly ten minutes before we got a
spot. It was in the spaces set aside for Kmart customers.

As it turned out the shop did not have any others so she
kept the one she had after all, and the time we wasted there
meant that we did not get to go to the Melbourne Hotel for
high tea.

As we drove through town we passed two theaters, one had
the Russian ballet, the other had "Driving Miss Daisy."

I did not want to go to either of those shows but if given
the choice I hoped it was the second rather than the first.

We found a park just around the corner from the theatre and
we went for lunch. we tried four places before we could find
a place that could fit us in. Both Meg and Kath's meal came
and they had finished eating before mine arrived.

But we got to the theatre with ten minutes to spare.

I did enjoy the show, Angela Lansbury was in the main role and
she was amazing.

At the end of the show I asked one of the ushers could he go
back stage and get the cast's autograph for me. He came back
and said that there was a side door and the actors left by that.

So we went around to the side and we waited for about 15 minutes.
An usher came out and looked at the 10 people standing there and
went back inside. There was only four groups there waiting.

He came back out and said that Angela had left and the other
actors did not leave between shows. everyone left. I said that
he was lying as the first people were there as soon as the show
finished.

It was very disappointing. That close to have her in Melbourne
and we travelled 180 kms and couldn't get her autograph.

After the show we went for a walk and found a chocolate shop that
the girls thought was great. They bought some. But just around
the corner was a cake shop and the front window was wonderful,
there was a line of about twenty people waiting to eat in. But
we just bough some cake, each piece was $9 which was about twice
what it should have been.

When we cam out we saw a

April's Last Friday of the Month

Although it was only the 26th it was the last Friday of the
month as next Friday will be 3rd May.

I had told Kath on Wednesday that it would be Cliff, Lena
maybe John, myself her and Kirsten at the club.

She had remarked that she would kill Lena if she won the
$500 again as she had won it the first time when she came
to the club last September when it was Cliff's birthday.

When I got the 4 coupons for ordering tea I took the first
two and put them behind my back and asked Lena to chose.
The remaining one I gave to Kath. It was Kath's coupon
that won a meat tray! Which made her very happy as she
said she will put it in the freezer for next weekend
when the kids are at her place.

ANZAC Day 2013

Well they say you learn something new every day.
Today I learned that Collingwood and Essenden play
a football match on this day EVERY year!

The winner receives The Anzac Cup and the best player
of the match receives the ANZAC medal!

I said that was not fair as no other team players
can ever receive the medal! Aparrantley I'm not
the only one who thinks this but it has not changed
in over 30 years!

Cafe Creme

This is the café opposite Cliff's but that is not the
name on the receipt.

It was the first lunch I had with Meg after she came
back from her honeymoon and went back to work.

I surprised her by parking the car outside Cliff's
shop and walking over to the café.

She has been having a go at me for parking the car
outside the café and then after lunch turning it
around and driving it up to the shop and parking it
but as it is only 2 hour parking in the street and
we are at lunch for about an hour and a half, then
at the shop for two hours I have to move the car at
least once during the day anyway!

Lunch With Meg

Went to the doctor's Friday morning 19th April and
she used dry ice to burn off the mark on my left
hand. It turned into a huge blister and burst on
Sunday morning it wept for a further two days and
then started to heal but it hurts and looks to be
infected!!

Meg was back from her honeymoon so I went and had
lunch with her at her house.

She and Mick were telling me about the honeymoon.

Seems as she has to show the marriage certificate
to change her passport and as they did not get that
till they returned she was travelling under her
maiden name and on the way back to Brisbane they
were not seated together! Mick had ben given the
window seat and Meg was in the aisle seat. They
spoke to the hostess but she was not helpful, the
host however explained their situation to the man
sitting between them and he gladly moved. When
they got back to Brisbane they found that on the
flight back to Melbourne they were sitting across
the aisle from each other, so as they had to wait
two hours there they managed to change the sitting
there also. Other than that they had a great time.
The weather was lovely and Meg said she spent every
day in the pool!

Welcome Chloe

Chloe was born to Sarah ( my step grand daughter) and her
partner Paul (Kevin's son...Kevin is with Sharon and Sharon's
daughter is Charmaine, Kirsten's 'bestest friend at school
and Kirsten is my granddaughter.)

However Angela who was Sarah's birthing coach wasn't there
and neither were Sarah's mother or grandmother though that
was the main reason they came down from Queensland was to
see Sarah's baby. Instead they used their return ticket to
go to Sydney and then a train to Gosford, to go to Darren's
funeral which was held on the 10th of April.

Angela drove up and why Kim and Pam did not go up with her
and come back with her to see the baby is beyond me. But
after the funeral Pam and Kim flew from Sydney back home to
Queensland.

Fifth Anniversary of Don Snr's Death

In the early hours of this morning we heard that Darren
White lost his battle with cancer.

It was only three weeks ago that he was given 2 to 3
months to live as the brain tumors were growing faster
than they could be removed.

So now that is two family members that have died on this
date, just 5 years apart.

Found out that Darren was born on the 12th March, the
date of my friend Anne's birthday!!

April Fools Day

Well this year it was a VERY quiet day.

Don't know if this because it was part of the Easter
holiday weekend, or because of the prank the Aussie
paper played in order to gain information on the
royal pregnancy.

For whatever reason no radio nor newspaper played
any prank this year!

Cliff and I spent most of the day in bed and no-one
played any pranks on us.

Easter Sunday

Meg decided to have Easter at her house. But Cliff
and I told her that we just wanted to have a quiet
day at his place.

We already had given out eggs to everyone including
the children.

So was a little disappointed that only Meg gave me a
Red Tulip white chocolate, but nothing for Cliff,
however this was much better than Don and Kath who
didn't us anything! I had even told Donald the name
of the book that I wanted but never got that either!

Perhaps I need to start saying which books I want
for Mother's day to make sure I get them.

Good Friday

At one stage Cliff was thinking about going to the club
for the Seafood lunch followed by the Good Friday Auction.

However when it came down to it, he decided that he wanted
to do nothing. So we both veged out! ALL DAY!!!

A Busy Thursday

I woke up early Thursday and went around to Karen
Roberts and got her to colour my hair for me. That
way it was all done by 11 a.m. in time for me to
go to Sexy Nails for my appointment.

I enjoyed the pedicure.

I was done by 1 p.m. I went around to the post box
to collect Cliff's mail. When I got back into the
car I noticed the polish on my small nail left hand
had peeled back in a flap. So I went back to the
plaza. The first time I went in I parked furthest
away than I have ever parked. It was just as bad
the second time. I drove up to the front lane. I
did not see one park so I went to turn left, there
was nothing to my right but just then, a woman came
out and hit her ditdit key and the car was right in
front of me! So I waited for her to go out, there
was a car that let her out and should have followed
behind her, but instead a car on my right that had
just come into the car park shot in front of that
second car and stole my spot. The licence read
BREAAZE. A bitch that thought she can do anything
in life. She saw me waiting there before her and cut
the line. Karma is a bitch and I wish that I could
be a fly on the wall when it bites her in the arse.

I got back to the store and they fixed the nail.

Then I went home to Cliff's. I had an afternoon nap.

Tonight was 'the last Friday of the month raffle' as
tomorrow is Good Friday. So Cliff and I went to the
club. It was just suppose to be us and Uncle Bill.
But then Kath came along with John. Of course Meg and
Mick didn't. Donald came along later.
I couldn't believe that Cliff's number came up for the
first pick and win. The numbers were 1,2,8,18, and 30.

I chose 2 but I was not allowed to either open the
envelop nor take the ticket out. In fact the man
turned away from me to take the ticket out. Then he
turned back and said I had a blank, but how do I know
that he did not substitute the winning ticket with a
blank especially as the next person turned out to be a
mate of his and HE CHOSE THE WINNING NUMBER 30!!!!

So I am almost sure I was cheated out of $750!!! which
Cliff said if we had won we could have given Meg for
her wedding on Saturday. I could not sleep one wink
all night thinking this over and over and wondering if
I had picked 30 would the winning ticket have been in it.

Lunch With Uncle Bill

March Wednesday 27th. I took Bill to Claudia's. I had
meant that we would pay for our own lunch but I ended up
paying for Bill's. Luckily it was only $12.50.

We had a lovely time. Caught up on all the news.

Frantic Saturday

After Meg came around to see me on Wednesday 20th to
check my wardrobe she decided that of the three out
fits that did fit me none were suitable for her wedding.

So on Saturday 23rd she made arrangements to meet me.

Firstly I had to go to K Mart to pay off my Credit Card.

Then around to the little place Cliff told me about
under the stair case near the lawyer's office. Were I
finally got the $50 voucher replaced for Kirsten's phone.

I got to Thera's at 10.25 a.m. in plenty of time, to meet
Meg at 11 a.m. so I checked out all the dresses in my
size and quite frankly I did not like any of them, in the
colours left after Meg ruled out, white, grey, silver,
ivory, yellow, green, peach, and apricot. I ruled out
purple as I have too many evening dresses in purple. We
both thought a light blue would be nice, but they did
not have anything in light blue.

Well Meg finally showed up at 11.25 a.m. I showed her
what was on hand and she was not impressed either. So she
dragged me around to 'Shapely Triangles.' There were only
four dresses there in my size. I tried on one and it was
awful, a second was okay, the third was better, but it was
coral and I did not like it on me as it seemed to make me
looked washed out. But Meg LOVED it.

I mentioned that Thea's had the same dress in a darker blue
and it was $2 cheaper than Triangles, the girl heard me and
said she could give it to me for the same price. But Meg
dragged me back to Thea's, the girl said as we were leaving
she would give us 10% off.

I tried on the blue dress and I liked it much better. But
Meg compared it against a silver dress similar to the colour
of Mick's suit and a charcoal dress similar to the colour of
the groomsmen suit and she felt it blended into their suits
too much.

So it was another walk around to Triangles.

After I got the dress Meg liked. ($270) We walked to the
Shoeroom. She tried to get a pair of silver shoes to match
the dress but no luck.

She wanted to walk around to the Plaza but I put my foot down
as my legs were already sore from all the walking we had done
so far!

So I went back to my car at Thea's and drove it to the plaza.

Met Meg at Williams were we found a matching pair of silver
shoes and a handbag. The shoes were HIGH heels not TOO high
but higher than any thing I have worn for ten years. ($92)

Then across to the jewellery store were she found a necklace
and earring set that matched the 'flower/leaf' pattern on the
dress. ($17)

Next it was around to sexy nails to pick out a shade that
went with the dress. She wrote it on a card and gave it to
me for Thursday for my appointment. Finally we were finished
and I was allowed to go 'home.' I slept all afternoon!

Dr. Rose

Well the test came back from my thyroid exam and everything
is OK but I am low in Vit D. So now I have to take a tablet
to supplement my Vit D. But we still have not found out why
I am sleepy in the afternoons and tired all the time.

So Dr. Rose sent me next door to get a blood gluouse test.
It is a fasting test and as I had not eaten all day I thought
I might as well do it now. It was 1 p.m. so the nurse took
the blood test. Then I had to have this gluouse drink. She
warned me that most people say it is very sweet.

St. Patrick's Day.

Well it was a bust this year. Because Meg is getting
married she said that she did not have the time for
her and Mick to come over and have a drink with us.

By 5 p.m. Cliff was too tired to go for a drink. It
was bad enough just trying to get him to go to the
supermarket.

Clean Up

Kath has said that I can't bring anything from my house that
belongs to her and Kirsten till she has cleaned out the garage.
This is so she can store stuff that won't fit into the house
into the garage.

I checked with the Council and the free tip day will be the
weekend of April 14th 15th.

So I went up to her place and we cleaned out the first third
of the garage and filled four and a half garbage bags with
rubbish which I will get rid of over the next two weeks.

I said that I would come up on Wednesday 3rd April and we
would do the rest of the garage, just leaving the last third
where all the old furniture is stored, most of which will
have to go to the tip!

The Pope

With all the talk about a new pope the question came
up on The Nine home page, "Would like to be pope?"
I answered NO, but over the last week I have been
thinking about this question. No I still would not
want to be the pope, but I was thinking what would I
do if I was the pope.

I would like to clarify some things.

The first thing would be pointing out that Christ was
born into a culture that followed the Jewish faith.

Thus when Christ preached a 'new' religion he used
the prinicples of his own religion.

Thus the commandments Catholics follow are the ones
given to Moses for the Jews to follow.

"Do not take the Lord's name in vain" has nothing to
do with Jesus Christ. Christ was not born and named
till many hundreds of years later. The Lord refered
to was the God, or as Catholics say 'God the Father.'

Doctor's Report

Well my new doctor, Dr. Rose, says that my blood report
came back reasonable normal. My throid is normal, which
surprised me. My blood work revealed I have a vitamin D
deficiency and an over supply of sugar in the blood.

I had to have a gluouse test. Fasting till I have a blood
test then drinking a gluouse drink waiting two hours and
having another blood test. The results will be in by
Friday 22 of March when I have my next appointment.

A Big Softie

Ross went to the Kiss concert on Wednesday night. So
Ariel and Sofie went into Cliff's room and were on the
bed. Jess was following him around like she usually
does. He complained that the dogs would not get off
the bed and come when he called.

I went into the room and at this point all three
dogs had made themselves at home on the bed. I just
looked at them, pointed at the door and in a firm voice
said "OUT" and they all got up, jumped off the bed and
went out!

Ciff really is a big softie!!

A New Doctor

My doctor has gone to Melbourne so now I have to find
a new doctor. I went to see Dr. Rose two weeks ago.
She seems nice. I needed a pap smear done as I received
a letter from my clinic to say I'm overdue for one.

I really did not want to see a male doctor and at my
first appopintment ask for a pap smear.

Well I went back Friday the 1st March to get my results.
But there is a problem. It seems the techs can't get a
reading on the cells, as they are too dry! So I have to
take a cream for about two weeks to help moisten it up,
but then I have to wait two more weeks so the cream does
not interfer with the reading.

She also ordered a throid reading to see if it is under
producing which could explain my weight gain, sleepy after
noons, cold feet and sleepless nights.

But I forgot to ask about the left knee which I hurt at
Karen's place. It has still not healed and is just as
painful if not more so than when I first did it. I think
part of the problem is the aspirn which helps PREVENT
clotting.

The Lights Go Out.

Early Thursday morning just before 3 a.m. I was playing
on the laptop when the lights went out. The light came
back on for a few seconds and then went out again.

I went outside to check if it was just my meter box or the
street, and it turned out that the power pole in the front
of number 31 had sparks coming off its two arms. Lucily
a light mist had been falling for several hours, this meant
there was no danger of the sparks starting a fire.

I had a hard time finding a number to ring to report the
problem. It took nearly ten minutes. The network said that
there had already been a report and that a unit was being
dispatched.

The unit turned up at about 3.20 a.m. and started repairs
at about 3.30 a.m. when I woke up at 9.30 a.m. it was to
find that the power was still not on. At 10.30 a.m. it was
still not on and the truck had gone so I rang up the network
to hear a recorded messsage that said the power should be
back on at 11 a.m. but it came back on at 10 45 a.m.

I felt sorry for all the workers relying on their electric
clocks to get up. Not to mention households in the area who
are all electric, looks like they would be getting take out
for breakfest!

As for me my Sunbeam water cooler has not worked since. I
figured that the on off power surge has buggered it.

Kirsten Runs Away.

Had a talk on Monday with Melissa and Kath at my house
and it was decided that Kirsten would live with me
for the week on and week off for three months till
Kath has fixed up a room in the garage for her.

She was suppose to come Tuesday night but instead run
off to her friend Sarah's house, saying she never
wanted to come to my place again.

It was the lsat straw.

I have told Kath that I will go to Centrelink and
make over Kirsten's money to Kath as of Saturday.

I will not have her at the week ends either, why
should Cliff and I be put out because Kath can't
say "No" to Nathen's silly demands that Kirsten
not stay overnight when the other kids are there.

I will not have Kirsten again. I love her and I don't
believe that being with her mum at this stage is the
best thing for her but she won't listen. Of course it
doessn't help that Kath has NO RULES for her, while I
have about 20!! I just wanted Kirsten to meet me half
way. But she is a typical 14 year old, selfish girl.
She just wants what she wants, no thought to the long
term. I just hope that one day she will see that I
was only trying to do the best thing for her.

Talhia Throws a Wobbley.

As soon as Kath walked in with her kids last Wednesday, I
could see that she was in a 'mood'.

I asked Kath did she still want me to mind Kirsten for
Valentines's Evening and she said no it was not necessary.

Talhia piped up that Kath should not be going out as she is
married! Kath instead of saying that Talhia should be minding
her own business and not telling an adult what to do as Talhia
is ONLY a child, Kath started to defend herself.

Kath said Nathan was going out so why couldn't she. Talhia
then very piously said "Two wrongs don't make a right.!" It
seems obvious to me that this is something Grandma Toss has
said and she is repeating it.

Then Ryley started to play with his lego in the doorway
between the kitchen and dinning room and I went to him and
saidit would be better if he picked them up and played with
them in the lounge room out of everyone's way. He totally
ignored me.
I picked him up and stood him over the lego and put my foor gently
on his lego and said "See someone is going to walk on them but not
like this they will break them if they walk on them." He pulled
away from me and ran to mum and would not pick them up. Then
Talhia came over and picked the lego up for him. If she keeps
stepping in and interferring then he will never learn to do the
things he should do, but what was worse she added as she walked
away. "Nan stop shit stirring Ryley." Well I went up to her and
gave her three good smacks on the butt. She looked shocked and I
said in a firm voice. "You are a child, I am an adult. I will
not put up with you speaking to me like that." She then screamed
at me "Don't" I slapped her across the face and said "I don't
scream at you like that and I will continue to hit you as long as
you scream at me." She continued to sceam at me and I continued
to slap her.

Then Kath stepped in, but as usuall she did the wrong thing.
Instead of supporting me. She said "Mum stop" which essential
supports Talhia in her cheeky behaviour. Then Kath pulled Talhia
away. Talhia then ran off grabbed Kath's mobile and rang her dad
to come and pick her up. Typically selfish child. They had barely
been there 30 minutes. I left in disgust saying that "If thoses
children were discipilined then they would not be backchatting and
ignoring what they are told." Kath had the nerve to say "Tell
Nathan." All very well as he has only had them for a year. What
about the previous 9 years when the only child disciplined in the
house was Kirsten.

The Ex Pope

Well it is all over the news. The pope is going to
resign! It was on the news that it is over 600
years since a pope resigned. The Cardinals had to
go to the rule book to see what happens, when the
pope resigns. I mean no one expected it. All the
modern popes have reigned to their deaths.

So I wonder will this create a precedent for future
popes, after all they are usually not elected till
they are in their late 70's. Most organisations fire
their CEO's once they hit 70! Modern living is fast
paced and there are many moral and ethical questions
that have to be revisited every year. This causes
stresss and strain on even the young.

More Trouble.

Because it has been so hot I decided it was time about
two weeks ago to clean out the pool and fill it.

But when I looked it was almost empty of water so I
think something sharp must have fallen into it when
the quake hit and put a hole in the side and that's why
it was only about 18 inches deep. With the hot weather
in the last two weeks it is now down to 6 inches.

I went to Clark Rubber and they said that a new liner
will cost about $900! and they gave me a card to a man
who will put the liner in for about $500. When we got
the pool 30 years ago that is what it cost for the pool,
filter and even a skimmer!

So as I can't afford that I will have to ring Coles
insurance and try to get them to pay for it, which means
I won't be swimming this Summer and it is the first real
summer we have had in 4 years!!

Observations

I remember about thirty years ago I heard a man say to
someone else that the yellow peril might have lost the
war, with the USA but that they were winning the battle!

I now know what he was talking about.

Back in 1994 when I left the Mail center there was only
one Asian person working there. She was the only Asian
person I saw around Morwell. Now when I go to the Doctors
there are about three Asians for every white person. When
I go to the dentists there are about four Asians for every
white person. So it seems that what they couldn't take by
force they are buying out from underneath us.

You have to admire their education system. I believe they
go to school from 8 a.m. in the morning to 4 p.m. six days
a week. I saw a show on T.V. about the bullet train. They
employ people to push people into the full train! so that
it is VERY full. They also mentioned that these people had
to have a University degree! The children strive to get the
best education they can doing up to six hours of homework at
night. Is it no wonder they are taking over here in Australia
when our children's motto seems to be "I don't care" and they
would never consider doing any homework.

Perhaps we all need to take the advice that one teacher gave
my daughter twenty years ago when she said that the language
the children should be learning in the LOTE class is Japanense.

Eurchre Restarts

Euchre restarted on Monday 21st Jan. It had been planned
to start on Mon 14th, but the club closed that night because
they were having new electrical wiring put in.

Cliff couldn't come as he had a co op meeting but there were
ten there. We finished about 10.50 p.m. which is quite
late.

Cliff waited up for me and wanted to know where I had been.

I had gone home and grabed a few things so I got 'home'
about 11.30 p.m.

Didn't do great as my score was only 106 and I came 3rd last.

On our second night 28th Cliff came and he got 111 and came
second last, but I did beter with a 123, for an average of
114.5. We still finished late getting home at 11.15 p.m.
after a stop at McDonalds.

D.V.D. Night (movie night)

Last Tuesday Kirsten come over to Cliff's with
Charmine and we had a video night. All Cliff
did was bitch and winge about the girls being
here and how he couldn't watch his own T.V.
Of course completely ignoring the fact that
there was NOTHING on any channel that we would
even want to watch!!!

Anyway this week we repeated the experience as
Cliff said that he was going to chess.

Turned out he was too tired to go to chess
so he watch "The Watch" with us. (I had
got that movie just in case he didn't go to
chess.) He seemed to enjoy it as he did
laugh ocassionally during the 100 minutes we
watched it. The girls really weren't into it
and went off to the bathroom where they put
makeup on and took photos and uploaded them
onto the Web.

After Cliff went to bed we watch "Hope Springs"
and "LOL" they were more into "LOL" but did
watch most of "Hope Springs." I had to laugh
during "LOL" as Kirsten acts very much like Lola
did in the movie. It was really all about HER.

A Nice Visit

I enjoyed Audrey's visit. We had quite a good time
together.

On Friday 10th January, we had tea at the Morwell Club.

We were going to have it at the Top pub on Thursday, but
Meg rang and said that Mick had been called in to work
from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Don and Lisa came back from their holiday on Wednesday.
So we had tea on Friday and made it a combined birthday
party for Kath's 32 birthday and saying hello to Audrey.

Sunday, January 13, 2013

Audrey Comes For a Visit.

Richard went to Cresswick and brought Audrey back.
It was a terrible day with the temperature hitting
almost 40 degrees. That was Thursday 3rd Jan.

They had to stop at Gladstone for about two hours
because of the heat. So she was pretty stuffed for
the rest of the day so we just spent it at home.
She was staying at the motel next to the BP garage
in Traralgon.

New Year 2013

Cliff and I spend it at his house. Once again this
year Sue did not have a New Year Eve's party.

We were in bed by 10 p.m. We heard fireworks go off
about 9-9.30 p.m. but nothing after that.

About 12.30 a.m. my mobile went off. It turned out
that Meg had sent me a text message wishing me a
Happy New Year. It was the only message I got.

Xmas 2012 (Part 3)

Well when Meg and Mick arrived we opened presents.
We had to open a few in the afternoon as the kids
were not going to wait 5 hours till Meg came.

My camera must have been accidently knocked on as
I had recharged it only the day before yet the
battery was flat so I had to get Kath to take
photos for me.

The kids seemed to have a great time, despite their
mother's sour mood, though I think Dayne was more
aware of it as he kept wanting to be picked up and
cuddled ALL THE TIME!

Donald was thrilled when he found out that the coffee
maker that Kath and he thought belonged to her was
actually his. He said that that morning he had asked
Kath to open it up and make them coffee but she said
not till she had offically been given the machine!
So when it turned out to be Donald's Kath threw a
tantrum and I had to go home and get her coffee maker
to show her that I had not given Donald hers!

I explained to Lisa that I had ordered a magazine
for her but it was her Xmas and birthday present in
one and thast it started in January!

Kirsten gave me a pair of THONGS! I have not worn
thongs since I was about ten when I found that the bit
between my toes rubs my skin off and I bleed! She has
not once since me wear thongs so why she got them is
beyond me.

I took home nearly half the food. Only about a quarter
was eaten. I left the other quarter for the mob to
finish off.

Xmas 2012 (Part 2)

As neither Kath or I had to do or be anywhere on
Xmas morning we went to visit both Sarah and
Angela to wish them a Merry Xmas and give them
their Xmas cards. However neither of them were
home. We left their crds under their front doors.

What is annoying is that neither of them have
contacted me to even say Merry Xmas or Happy New
Year. Not even a SMS!!! I said this to Meg and
she said I wasn't alone that she had not heard
from them either. Haven't heard from Jess either.

Xmas 2012. (Part 1)

Well Kath was a misery guts. She was upset that she did
not have the kids Xmas Eve and have them wake up with her
on Xmas morning. BIG DEAL. How many other women are in
the same boat? grow up girl!

Donald went with Lisa to have lunch with her family.

Meg went with Mick to have tea at his mum's place as Kath
and Donald said that everyone could come to his house to
open presents in the late afternoon but they could not
afford food!

So Cliff and I spent $120 for food for EVERYONE only to
have them just pick at it as they had had too much for
lunch and tea at other places, I was the only hungry
one there as I had no breakfest nor lunch!!!

Nathan brought the kids but Ryley played up and wanted to
go 'back home' to play with his new DVD player! He is 3
and instead of saying "No you stay here and when you come
home tomorrow you can play with it." Both Kath and Nathan
gave in to him and let him go back with Nathan. This of
course only upset Kath more. I had thought that when the
kids came she would be happier or at least paste a smile
on her face for the kids sake but she started to cry
instead! which of course upset the kids and damptened
everyone elses's Xmas as well.

Found out an hour later that Nathan had asked her for a
divorce! What a peach he is to do that on Xmas day,
especially as it turned out they had SEX the night before!!!
