Australia Day

Well there has been a lot of talk about the researcher
from Perth who wnet to a rally and interviewed 2,000
people who were flying the Australian flag on their
car and claims that there was a stat signifiance
between racism anjd fying the flag.

My question is what was the rally about? If it was a
protest about 'foreginers' in this country e.g. then
that would skew the results. So unless I know this,
plus other factors, e.g. age of person, sex of person
and place of birth of person being interviewed then I
am not relying on her results.

My "New" Car.

Last year Kirsten was giving me grief about how "old' my
car was. It was 19 yearts old at the end of Oct. So
when Supercheap Auto had a super sale I spend $50 on paint
to do my car.

I started doing it just after Xmas and my son said that I
was to desist as he would do it the right way!

I had already washed the car ans was sanding away at all
the scratches on the bonnet when Kirsten came out with his
message. I took the car around and he said that he was
off work for the next three weeks and would do the car
during his holidays and I thiught "It will be like every
thing else he has said that he would do for me, it would
get started and never finished!" alought he did finally
finish the side path from my front door to the side gate
(after TEN years). Though to be honest it was his father
who started the path and never finished it. It is some
thing he inherited from his father who was aways starting
stuff around the house and never completing it.

Anyway he goes back to work next Monday that is 7 days
left to do the car and he has only put one coat on the
bonnet! At this rate it will be a year to do the whole
car. I said at least three coats of paint per section!

He said he can't do it because it was raining (3 days)
too windy (2 days) and he had the kids (7 days) and he
was too busy! (1 day) that leaves the one day he did
work on it and now he says he is getting the kids for
the next 3 days which means he will only have 2 days
left to do the whole car!

Just as I thought it will not be done by the end of his
hoildays!

Times like this I regret not having another son!

Time for the Tree to Come Down.

As soon as Cliff went to work on Wednesday 28th Dec,
he started to ask when the tree was coming down.

For the 15th year in a row I explained that there
are TWELVE days of Xmas and that means that the
tree comes down AFTER the 6th January.

So today being the Monday 9th I took Kirsten down
and she put the decorations and tree into their
boxes. (We were too busy on Friday and Sat to do it.)

Then went up to see Kath and she had the gall to say
she is thinking of getting back with Nathan. What
a backward step.

Family Matters

Meg is planning her engagement party. Hopefully in Feb.
Mick is currently working in Geelong and is only home
at the weekend.

Don has spoken to Lisa's dad and her father LAUGHED,but
he did say that Lisa appears to be happy and that is all
one can ask, so now Don just needs to speak to Lisa!

I told Cliff about the dinner at the Rossmore, Yallourn
Nth. He is already complaining! I told him that if he
wants me to tell him about things in advance then he
better stop whinging!

Happy New Year!

Once again it was a quiet start. I was sitting outside
on the front verandah with Kirsten showing her how bright
and how many stars there were. It was a perfect night
for doing so as there was no cloud cover at all. I
explained to her that we were very lucky as people in
the city don't get to experience such a wonderful sight
too often because of the smog!

We saw a coule of fireworks at midnight and someone in a
house up the street let off some bangers but other than
that nothing. Three cars drove up and down the street
between 12a.m. and 12:15a.m. but two went into driveways
and the third drove straight throught but none beeped
their horns.

Happy New Year to all bloggers out there and their readers!
